Actually, Warriors of Fate is on there! Small miracle, that.
I'm sure it's licensing on the D&D stuff. Who holds that license now? Or does it still get farmed out to whoever is willing to pay the cash? I think I've got a collection published by Atari, but I'm assuming they're not the only ones with rights; I'd think that's specific to certain games.

I'm sure it's licensing on the D&D stuff. Who holds that license now? We may be on to something with that. TSR owned the license when those arcade games were made, but TSR went defunct in 1997 when Wizards of the Coast bought them out. Wizards of the Coast owns the license now. I wonder if they wanted too much from ol' Crapcom.

Actually, though, they did put out the D&D games on 360, so... heck, I don't know. Maybe they're planning a second bundle if the first does well.

I have a Switch and the amount of retro stuff dropping on the eShop is insane.
You've got:
Arcade Archives (emulated arcade games by various developers, Rygar just dropped today, for example) ACA Neo Geo (Neo Geo games, duh) Johnny Turbo's Arcade (Data East arcade games, this one hasn't been so active lately unfortunately) Psikyo shmups Various "random" things -- Cloud Master was just released about a week ago, for instance
Now, obviously, this is all arcade stuff.
There doesn't seem to be a viable Virtual Console successor for console titles. In fact, first-party NES games are coming soon but will require a subscription.

I'm still debating whether I want to do the service. That being said, it's only $20 a year. I just hope they start dropping a few more systems than NES.

I'd rather just keep buying NES carts, honestly.

Nintendo acting like NES games are so precious because their NES Classic gimmick sold well. People just wanted the object out of some nostalgia trip. Put those games on the store like everything else.

I'm seeing TONS of nasty stuff about the service. Stuff like cloud saves deleting when you're not subbed, those NES controllers only being sold to members with subscriptions or something weird with that. I don't know, do you seriously need to pay for another online service to play SMB3 again right now? I'd hold off. Half their online ideas still sound a decade old too so I just don't trust them at all right now on this. Friend codes STILL? Having to use a phone app for Splatoon chat? WTF. The Switch ports are piling up though, but it's basically impossible for me to keep tabs on Nintendo news and updates, I wouldn't even know where to start. I tried to nudge people over at RB to start making a list of the ports.

The Switch really is the super port machine these days. It's a little annoying when people say "look at all the new Switch games" except 95% of them aren't really "Switch" games, they are ports that also appear on other platforms. That said, I'm sure there are some good Switch exclusives, with more to come. But all too new for HRG.
