Is Tempest 4000 for the PS4 HRG kosher?
If so, is it worth getting if you already have access to Tempest X3?

Is Tempest 4000 for the PS4 HRG kosher? If it's the same game ported from an original release from 10+ years ago, yes. If it has been remade with replaced graphics, replaced audio, or had additional content added, then no.

Romancing Saga 3 is getting a remaster! Isn't this the infamous one that's never been fully translated?
Not sure what to expect though, heard a lot of iffy things about the recent remaster release of Romancing Saga 2 and Square Enix's PC ports are absolute garbage. It was released elsewhere, but still think it had annoying mobile-like interface crap and whatnot. Did anyone here play it?

Romancing SaGa 3 is already fully playable in English. The patch is considered "unfinished", but it's really just minor stuff (I think spell names?). I played through it. It's not a good game, but then it's not a good series.

I have the Switch version. It's a'ight. I don't love the UI, but it's not bad, either.
Very happy there's finally word about RS3, though. While the SNES translation works, it's very awkward in its phrasing and whatnot. It definitely needed another pass for quality; I had planned on playing through, but decided it wasn't worth it in that state. (Unlike Dragon Quest VI, which was fantastic, despite being "unfinished".)

Yeah, the Romancing Saga 3 patch is awkward, but it doesn't matter so much because you only see a lot of dialogue in the prologue chapters. After that you're just going around doing dungeons at random and there's very little story development or dialogue.
EDIT - Also, a bunch of classic Sega games (and Tecnosoft, since they own the IP) are being released on the Switch as part of a M2-developed Sega Ages lineup. Sonic 1 and Thunder Force IV are out now. They are straight ports with some bonus additions: Thunder Force IV has a bonus mode where you can play using TFIII's ship and weapons, plus a "Kids Mode" that first appeared in the Saturn version with lower difficulty where you keep your weapons on respawn. Sonic 1 has the dash and some bonuses of its own.
The upcoming Phantasy Star 1 sounds nice: they're gonna use the FM soundtrack, plus give you in-game maps for the dungeons (don't know whether they auto-fill or not) and add monster, weapon and item descriptions.
I'm especially excited about Alex Kidd in Miracle World, because that game had a lot of forward-thinking ideas and could be tremendously improved with just minor adjustments, like not dying in one hit.

Ah, gotcha. I know that supposedly RS2 is the best of the series, but I haven't really given it much time yet. I liked Final Fantasy Legend I/II and SaGa Frontier 2. I haven't finished any others in the series.

I couldn't get into SaGa Frontier 1-2, so I don't know about the older ones yet. I certainly love the way they look and sound (musically), but other than that... no idea.
I sound like a poser when I say my favorite SaGa game is probably The Last Remnant.

I sound like a poser when I say my favorite SaGa game is probably The Last Remnant. Oh, no, that game is very much SaGa through and through. The series is wildly uneven, though. I can't really explain why I like some and not others. Probably because the ones I've finished are more directed and linear than the others. I want to love SaGa Frontier, but I've always bounced off of it, only really finishing one of the stories (Blue). I think almost all the RS series goes really, really wide open, which means you're subject to a lot of wandering and some wild difficulty spikes.
