Now I know what Twitch channel Ex will enjoy: www.twitch.tv/cosmos I basically agree with everyone so far. Moderation is key and many forms of entertainment or any activity in life can be abused and harmful, like Sarge was getting at. We need to eat to survive, but that doesn't mean eat junk all day long everyday. Before video games, I'm sure movies, comics, music, maybe even cards, board games, and pool (table), etc, were probably stigmatized by groups as something that was childish or a waste of time. In 2019 it feels like video games are still in the crosshairs over this for sure though, yet smart phones are probably a 500% bigger issue (even physically, causing serious neck issues) yet most want to ignore that. Have heard plenty of stories by this point about people having real anxiety panic attacks if they are without their phone and things like that. Now that's a problem. I have never once ever felt guilty about this hobby. On the flip side, sometimes I'll get in the mood to watch a lot of movies throughout a month or something, then when I hit burn out I always look back on those short brief experiences and think THAT was a waste of time usually haha. Of course, there's some great powerful movies here and there though. I get more out of longer form shows with anime and TV shows, however I find this stuff is harder to recall and remember when the years go by, as compared to video games. That could just be my bias with video games being my #1 hobby of course, or the interactivity makes it leave a stronger mark on my memories.
