Sounds pretty promising, I'll definitely give it a shot soon-ish. I'm just glad you can check the turn order at the top of the screen. The game wouldn't have worked at all if you couldn't. It's not like Shining Force 2 where it's mostly incidental (unless you're playing on Hard, I guess); one of the core strategic elements is minding and manipulating turn order, so you need to be able to see it at all times.

It's not like Shining Force 2 where it's mostly incidental (unless you're playing on Hard, I guess) It's incidental on any difficulty setting, as in sometimes a certain unit gets to act twice before one of the opponent's units and there's no way to predict that. They don't get two turns per se, but they get to act earlier during a 'turn', which amounts to the same thing. Bosses, however, do get special agility bonuses that effectively allow them to act twice.

Shining Force 2 is normally easy enough that it doesn't matter, especially since even if that particular character doesn't get to act again before the enemy, another character can take care of it, and it's usually better to deal with enemies as a team. And it doesn't matter if anyone except the main character dies.

Oh yeah, that's true. As you say it becomes more of an issue on harder difficulties due to smarter AI/higher enemy attack and if you refuse to lose any unit in battle on principle.
