if we would require someone to have to closely moderate a section and have to make a bunch of rules for it What I'm proposing is not complex at all, nor would it need a bunch of rules.
The original HRG board as you already enjoy it would remain wholly intact (talk about games 10 years or older).
Additionally, a new board would be created below it, that is for modern games only (talk about games newer than 10 years old).
The modern gaming board would not impact, nor interact, with the existing Hardcore Retro Gaming board.
That said, if you or anyone else does not like this idea, you have the right to exercise your Nay vote.

Presently it looks like the Aye! votes are winning by a mile. It would seem any regular members who've not voted yet aren't gonna bother doing so. And even if they voted Nay, it wouldn't be enough votes to offset the margin at this point. So I think I'll go ahead and move forward on this idea. We shall add a purely modern gaming section, not a "retro-styled modern gaming section"; most indicated that's what they wanted, and it's easier to moderate too. I'll try to get all this setup at some point today. If this idea ends up being a disaster, we can always nuke the new section, and pretend it never happened.

I think I should have put my Ron Paul GIF here instead. I really do think this will be fine, and as you say, we can always commence orbital bombardment if necessary.
