ExYep! Played all four on the highest difficulty. I think I also maxed out all the ratings for each character on Mercenaries mode, which I should also add is my favorite take on that mode outside of RE4’s. Just to be clear, I’d probably only give RE6 a 7/10 compared to RE4’s 10/10. But I still enjoyed it more than RE5 or Code Veronica when it comes to mainline entries. Yeah, Vanquish is a near masterpiece, while I’d say Binary Domain is only mostly great. Haven’t played it since around the time it came out, though, so my memory could be a little hazy. But for third person shooters of that gen, it’s easily a standout.

All this talk of RE4-6 has me really itching to finally play through Dead Space and The Evil Within. Think I might take at least one of those on next month, finally.

I plan to play Dead Space for the first time this upcoming October. I suppose the experience will ultimately decide the fate of Xeogred and my relationship. For what it's worth, I did beat and enjoy this game twice over:

Haha, then I guess I’ve also played a Dead Space game already! Definitely a fun and unique light gun game given how the weapons work. The Wii had quite a few standouts in that genre.

Ex : Yes, RE6 took me 22 hours. I'm not sure where you get the Vanquish and Binary Domain comparisons in your reviews, sounds like you read some reviews or forums with those "Vanquish Killer" comments. I played both on my own and don't know what people were saying about them at the time. I just always mention them together because they both kickass and are about killing robots, both with some solid humor too. Anyone who likes Vanquish should check out Metal Gear Rising too, they look and feel like they're set in the same world funny enough. Rising doesn't feel like a real MG game at all, but it's awesome for what it is. Both are really short though, only took me about 5-6 hours each or something.
Dead Space 1 is just as good, IF NOT, better than the best RE's in my book, Don't ask me how to rank these because that'd be a lot of trouble. Let's just say I'd give REmake, REmake 2, RE2, and RE4 a 10, and Dead Space gets a 10 too.

Vanquish is really good. Ex was kind enough to send me a copy, and I had a really good time with it. Definitely one of the top third-person shooters I've played. Revengeance was fun, too, but yeah, it doesn't really feel like a Metal Gear Solid game, at least from a gameplay perspective. I think from a presentation perspective, though, it nails the feel. MGS wishes it felt this fluid.

I love how all the MGS games play and feel. Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain are sublime compared to most modern games too. I wouldn't really compare any of them to Rising... way different genres?

Yeah, pretty much. I loved Phantom Pain for a while, but it definitely went on for far too long in my opinion. I was really pushing for the end at 50 hours.

Speaking of games I enjoyed that I don't see myself replaying, from another topic... that could be Phantom Pain for me. The gameplay was a blast but the lack of story content was a real bummer as a longtime fan. Not like more needed to be fleshed out by that point and maybe Konami aren't to blame for Kojima taking ages to do anything on that project, but yeah. I think it could have come together better but it really did need to finally come out. I don't like the story or characters in Peace Walker but I think I had more fun with that one in retrospect, had a bit more variety. I vastly prefer MGS1-4 compared to these though.
I don't even own Phantom Pain, just played my old roommates copy. And I always ask myself "Do I really need it?", since I just seriously don't know if I'll care to play it again. I wish I could load up a copy just to see my save time haha, but yeah pretty sure it was in the ~50 hour ballpark.
Mechanically it was amazing to "play" though and still recommended for fans, but yeah. Weird game.

Honestly, it kinda devolved into Metal Gear Pokemon. Not much story, top-notch gameplay. I called it "Super Peace Walker" at the time, and I stick by that characterization. But it probably could have trimmed a lot of fat out. A 25-hour version with a bit more story would have been fantastic.
