And Colors sounds really interesting knowing it features a lot of 2D sections. Colors is about an even mix of 3D and 2D. One of my favorite stages: - A few more modern 2D=styled platformers I suggest... Blaster Master Zero (3DS) Guacamelee! (PC) Gunman Clive (3DS) Gunman Clive 2 (3DS) Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue (PC) Super Cat Bros (Android) Traps n' Gemstones (Android)

That looks cooler than anything I remember from Sonic Generations but I'm still not really seeing the greatness here man, haha... guess I just need to play Colors for myself eventually to see what I think. Never been big on modern Sonic music like that either.
Did anyone play Lost World?

I think my favorite Metroid might be Zero Mission.

XeogredI also love those stickerbrush levels. The soundtrack in them is up there with aquatic ambience for me. ExThat looks pretty great to me! I thought Generations was only decent, but it had a lot of potential, so maybe this figured it out better. I’ll also second Guacamelee and Blaster Master Zero. Both are really great and tons of fun. Haven’t played the others, though. Sarge Zero Mission is up there with Prime 1 and Super for me as one of my all-time favorites. I think the only other game remake that’s as good is the REmake.

I'm not sure why Sarge posted that here? Shouldn't that go... here?

Because he brought up MP earlier. But yes, I crossed the streams for a bit.

Ohhh.
I definitely kid though. Zero Mission is indeed one of the best remakes in the business next to RE1-2 for me. That said, I've always still liked the original NES version more. I don't really love the brighter colorful look of Zero Mission and Fusion or the GBA palette in general, but I know they were probably designed as such so people could see the games better on the devices. Super Metroid has the best look and atmosphere ever.

I agree with Xeogred. As much as I love Zero Mission, it doesn't capture the eerie tone of the original Metroid very well. Don't get me wrong though, Zero Mission is a top notch remake, I very much enjoyed the experience. But I would not say it's better than the game it's a remake of, because it doesn't quite capture everything that made the original Metroid so unique. And also because Zero Mission is a piece of cake compared to the original, so it loses Metroid's challenge. Super Metroid still remains the best game in the whole series though.

And for one of the most melodic, upbeat tracks of the original, Kraid's Lair is still brimming with mystery and dread.
I also don't love the extra end game stuff in Zero Mission, even if it's cool they went out of their way to add a lot of extra stuff. But losing your powers and having to sneak around a bit... not fun at all. I LOVE the addition of Crateria though. I think if they just expanded on that or seamlessly added a new area mid game, that would have been cooler.
Still hoping you play AM2R someday, Ex. Having played it twice now I like it just as much as the two GBA games. Once you full screen that thing with a controller, you'll assume you're just playing an official rom.
