Oh, I remember that casting call. That's a little worrying, actually (a bunch of amateurs voice acting?), but I'll be happy when it comes out regardless! As Sarge said, and I agree with him, the Ys IV English fan dub was pretty impressive. Turned out way better than I'd have thought, given the circumstances.

The Legend of Xanadu voice acting is gonna be good. I promise. I have inside info. Also, as someone who has experienced these games, I can promise that they are fantastic. The gameplay and sprite design is just top-notch. And Falcom brings their soundtrack A game as always. These are not to be missed. Falcom's PC Engine output is phenomenal overall. PCE Popful Mail destroys the WD Sega CD version, and the PCE Brandish (Arcade card compatible!) is also excellent. So is Sorcerian. Maybe we'll see patches for all those someday.

I'd love to see the Mega Drive Sorcerian translated, since it was made by SEGA and features all-original scenarios written by various staff members. Even Bo /Tokuhiko Uwabo (composer for Phantasy Star 1 & 2 and a bunch of other early SEGA titles) wrote one! The PCE-CD version was actually developed by Victor (JVC), not Falcom.

Yeah I know that. Still a "Falcom game" generally speaking though. Mega Drive Sorcerian is awesome, I do concur. There is a partial translation, but it's pretty rudimentary.
I'm kind of a Sorcerian nut. I have the (questionable) Dreamcast reboot as well as Dragon Slayer Chronicle, which contains an (officially) emulated PC-88 version. Can't beat that English MS-DOS floppy disk port though, amirite?

Can't beat that English MS-DOS floppy disk port though, amirite? MS-DOS version is OK. But there are other more superior PC iterations. For example, it is bullshit of the highest order that neither of these versions are available in English:

I adore the cover art for Sorcerian Forever. It reminds me of the Ray Harryhausen-esque puppets they used for the SNES version of Star Fox. Speaking of which, I wish those would turn up from whatever warehouse they've been stashed away in, since I've always yearned for a closer look at them.

I tried out the Great Battle stuff that AGTP translated. The one that's worth your time is IV: It's a sidescrolling run 'n gun. The other GB games are not like that. One's an overhead shooter, and the others are beat 'em ups from what I could tell.

Here's a good shot of the first one on PC-FX. Speaking of fan translations, this game has one. For the Steam version! Interesting to see a Atelier game up in hurr. Wish someone would go back and do the very first one.

Actually, I think that's a remake of the first two games of the series, so unless you're just dead set on the PS1 game, I'd give it a go.
