I definitely remember that one in arcades.

I didn't even know this one existed until very recently. The game might not be great, but I think the cover art is cool: Very 1988. After doing further research, there are other Zapper games I didn't know about. Such as Barker Bill's Trick Shooting, To the Earth, Mechanized Attack, and Gotcha! The Sport!. Gotcha! is interesting in that it requires using the controller and the gun simultaneously. toei I definitely remember Area 51, saw it in many an arcade. It was certainly a hit, although I don't remember thinking much of it at the time. - Is anyone around here a fan of the Silent Scope series? I just remembered yesterday I've got this in my Xbox collection: Unfortunately I don't own the Light Rifle:

I've got Silent Scope for Dreamcast, but I don't have a gun for it.

Silent Scope falls in my arcade dead angle (the whole series pretty much came out when I entered middle school) so I didn't know about it. Unfortunately the arcade hardware (the Konami Hornet and Konami Viper) doesn't appear to be emulated, and neither the Dreamcast nor PS2 versions were light gun-compatible. Only the x-box ports.

neither the Dreamcast nor PS2 versions were light gun-compatible. Only the x-box ports. Yeah I was looking to see how much the rifle is, cheapest I've seen is $80 shipped. I don't think I like SS enough for $80. I'm not even sure why I bought the complete collection for Xbox. At one time I did own House of the Dead parts II & III for Xbox, with light guns. I remember those being fun, especially part III. I sold all that years ago though.

Oh, really? Man, that's quite the downgrade, then, not having light gun support for the DC version.

So, out of curiosity, what system that sports a light gun peripheral is considered to have the best light gun games?

So, out of curiosity, what system that sports a light gun peripheral is considered to have the best light gun games? Gonna be biased and say the Wii. All of these were great fun:

Wii is definitely on the list, but I was wondering about the systems that literally used light guns in the Zapper/Light Phaser/Justifier/GunCon style. Basically, ones that required a CRT to play.

In the case of requiring a CRT, I'd say the PS2. That system has a lot of light gun games. And for the ones that support it, the GunCon is good stuff.
