New Death Mark game coming in February. I enjoyed what I played of the first one, fell off of it for some reason though. I'll get back to it. These are horror games with plenty of interactivity. Typical confusing localization... this is a direct sequel to Death Mark but the third "Spirit Hunter" game. The second one, NG, has a different story and cast of characters.

I'll definitely get it. I've got the other two physically; DM1 on Vita, Spirit Hunter: NG on PS4. It's a cool series from what I've read/seen.

Realizing now that the Japanese version was actually released back in December! Totally missed that news. The Japanese box art is pretty cool.

Agreed, that box art is wicked.
Also, I want to make something clear. I wasn't trying to disparage visual novels earlier. I do enjoy and respect VNs, have read some good ones in the past, and plan to read more in the future. It's a good medium regardless of if they are "real" video games or not.

Death Mark 2 looks good. Was the first game all first-person, and the sequel has those side-scrolling segments?

Pretty sure the first game is all first-person.

Yeah I wishlisted that one when I first saw it. The developer's previous VN has a really interesting style too, though there are no localization plans I can see. Hira Hira Hihiru was also written by the same guy behind Swan Song, a very strong (albeit messed up) visual novel.

bonesnapdeez Which VNs (in English) do you consider the best available for Switch (otome excluded) presently?

bonesnapdeez Which VNs (in English) do you consider the best available for Switch (otome excluded) presently? Nothing I've played is "bad." Stuff to check out......... Raging Loop Chaos;Head Noah / Chaos;Child Double Pack (technically haven't played this collection, or Noah in any capacity, but played both Chaos;Head and Child on other platforms) Steins;Gate Elite (+ the bonus game 8-Bit Adv Steins;Gate) Steins;Gate 0 Steins;Gate: My Darling's Embrace Robotics;Notes Double Pack Famicom Detective Club remakes Tokyo Dark: Remembrance (VN-ish) Witch on the Holy Night planetarian Harmonia Aokana - Four Rhythms Across the Blue CORPSE FACTORY A couple of these I played on PC or Vita, but are likely to be virtually identical on Switch. I'm gonna assume the Scar of the Doll remake is good too. I played the original. I wouldn't play anything Steins;Gate related without playing the original though. And that isn't on Switch.
