OK so if I were to hypothetically play my XBOX 360 backlog on an XBOX One X which bump up those old games to 4K then it sounds like I can discuss it here. If the 360 game is ten years old or older, sure. An HD remaster of a game is only legit if the game it's a remaster of is ten or more years old. Pretty sure the FAQ explains all that clearly actually. Right. I didn't think the rules were unclear, I was just thinking today about how the latest model of XBOX can play older games kind of like if you were to run an older PC game on a new PC with roided-out settings that wouldn't have been possible when the game originally released. I wondered if that could be considered a compromise. But we're going strictly by release date, not some purist "original hardware only" rule, so it's not.

HRG has zero issue with someone using a newer console's backwards compatibility mode to play previous generation games. If the newer system can enhance the older game's graphics as a bonus, more power to it. That's much the same as using ePSXe to up'res old PS1 games' polygons into cleaner sharper graphics.

Basically the only reason I think I'd get an Xbox One X at some point is to simply play Ninja Gaiden Black enhanced. It's pretty cool the XB1X (ugh?) can do that with some select oXbox (ugh?) titles.

(Video of Ninja Gaiden Black running on XBOX One X) Yeah ironically the XBOX One family of consoles (especially the X) piqued my interest for their ability to play 360 and OG XBOX games, but with higher frame rates, resolutions, and even heightened levels of detail (like increased foliage in a certain Halo game). I don't a crap about XBOX One games themselves. XD

I've got less than zero interest in an Xbox One. Microsoft blew it this gen. They should have named the console the Xbox Nexus anyway. They could have done so before Google took that name and squandered it.
I don't even own a PS4 or Switch yet. I figure at the end of next year (as in December 2019), I'll buy a PS4 Pro diddly doo. The PS4 at least has some strong exclusives. In contrast something like 95% of "Switch" games exist on other platforms. There's ever less modern games I'm really interested in anymore anyway. Some of that may be "old man syndrome", but there's more to it than that. But such talk is way outside the scope of this forum so I digress.
I do own some HD remasters on PS3 of PS2 games.

My first PS3 game ever was an HD remaster of Shadow of the Colossus and Ico. I got it before I even had a PS3.
I only have Nintendo's latest console this generation, and half my games are homages to things like Sonic the Hedgehog, Wild Guns, and Mega Man. I think when I escape from reality I just prefer colorful, cartoony, and uplifting things instead of serious things. (Might have something to do with why I like animated movies, too.)

I do not have a PS4 yet, but I have already purchased the PS4 remasters/ports of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and the Shenmue I & II collection for the day I eventually purchase the console.

Probably not, unless I can get it super cheap. I've already got Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles on PSP, I've got a couple of copies of SotN on PSX, and I've got a (burned) copy of Rondo for my Duo if I need absolute hardware accuracy.

So any of you guys going to check out Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood? Already have Symphony on PSX and 360, Rondo on Wii VC (eff the price of a physical copy). Plus I have that PSP game/compilation? (I haven't played it). So, in other words, No. In other news, Night Slashers is gonna be the next Johnny Turbo game. Any good?
