When I was a kid I took apart a small fan meant to be clipped to a bed or desk for no particular reason and got shocked at least twice. It must have been very weak, though. Still, it was a weird feeling, and I remember it very well.

Getting closer to working PSX, apparently, on the MiSTer. I know Laxer3A is working on a different board, though, but with similar capabilities. Here's hoping the porting process isn't too brutal.
Anyway, very fitting for it to be RIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAACEEEER.

For anyone that was interested, it looks like Analogue is going to have some Super Nts up for sale tomorrow morning. I was tempted a while back, but now with the MiSTer, I'll probably pass. For those that must use real carts, though, this is a great choice for a modern setup.
Also Nt Mini Noirs, but man, those things are way too expensive.

Those always look SO slick and cool to me. But I think I'm set on sticking with emulation going forward. Still got my ~60 some SNES carts though, heh.

Yeah, I'm almost exclusively emulation at this point, despite having a nice collection of SNES carts. Either through the SNES Classic, or MiSTer.

Have a Super Nt and some kind of flashcart like an Everdrive* for it, would be pretty cool.
*I don't know what the new hipster flashcarts are these days, but I remember Everdrives.

There's jailbreak firmware for the Super Nt, but I think it doesn't handle Super FX or SA1.
And yeah, KRIKzz has the Super EverDrive, but it's not the best offering. The top tier these days is the FXPak/FXPak Pro, originally known as the SD2SNES. That one actually supports both Super FX and SA1, which on the base level hardware like I have is pretty mind-blowing.

Analogue Pocket is going on sale tomorrow at 8 AM PST. Which means it's gonna be really early for me if I try to get one. It really does look like a quality piece of kit - very tempted to take the plunge. But then again, I wonder if just rolling with the Steam Deck will be sufficient for my needs.

Against my better judgment, I have put in an order for the Analogue Pocket. There's a lot of potential here, given the insane screen resolution and the roughly half-capable FPGA that will allow for more cores to be run. And if I don't like how it's looking, I can always cancel or *gasp* resell it. I have no doubts there would be takers, although I'd prefer it get into the hands of someone that would appreciate it for a reasonable price.
(Also, shipping was painful. Ouch. This thing better be mega-packed with tracking for $27.)

The dense screen resolution seemed strange to me. Granted it's a perfect pixel scale to the source, but still seemed unusually high given the target application. Maybe the developers got a good deal on a bunch of screens at that resolution, but you still need a GPU that can push that many pixels too. I can't suss why they would have done so unless they meant for this device to serve as a hackable unit for other purposes.
