The first track in Hissatsu reminds me of the Gerudo theme from Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Apparently it's a famous theme in Japan (Hissatsu ran on TV for like 20 years). The popular anime Gintama had a scene that uses it to parody the series. That said, the guitars in both have a kind of gipsy / latin flavor. I wish I knew that stuff better.

Saint Pepsi isn't really video game music, but someone made this Commodore 64 SID remix of "Cherry Pepsi" and I just love it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B03-4y796ASID music just sounds so good to me!

I really dig how dynamic and long the track is. Finding long tracker tunes in old VGM is always a nice treat, I imagine those type of songs were trickier to compose and more memory intensive... but I'm just making that up probably. My go to example is always this one, the loop doesn't replay until about 2:33 in. Dang!! Shinobi 3 Return Of The Ninja Master OST- He Runs

This rendition of Bonus Barrage from Donkey Kong Land on the Gameboy makes me so nostalgic: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gqh2qvbyF_U&index=7&list=PLF9A1FA6E6B550BBFAs a kid I had: Gameboy NES Sega Genesis But never SNES. (I only got to play that at friends' houses.) So the only version of Donkey Kong Country I owned for myself was Donkey Kong Land on the Gameboy. Therefore this version of the song sound like the "real" version to me. XD

Great stuff. GB's sound chip has a lot of personality I love. Unlike the GBA chip.
