That was me that posted that Thief video with the two NPC's arguing haha. Thief 1 did come out in 1998, so yeah I imagine they both work on Win98. For the first game you should check out the Gold edition.
Mega Man ZX and Advent are kind of an extension of the GBA Zero games, which are all traditional side scrolling action platformers like the classics and X series. The RPG series was Battle Network I believe.

I enjoyed Thief, and it isn't even my genre of choice. Definitely give it a go. If you're running a PIII, it should have no issues. Or you could get a copy on GOG; they're on sale right at this moment. (Speaking of which, I just bought the second and third games for future purposes.)

Thief is another series I need to check out. Is that a Windows 98 game? Thief is outstanding, you'll want to play the Gold version. The original system requirements for Gold: OS: Windows 95/98 Processor: Pentium 166 MHz Memory: 32MB of RAM Hard Disk Space: 60MB Hard Disk space available Video Card: 4MB SVGA video card (100% DirectX 6 compatible) DirectX®: 6

So, a quick recap on my gaming year: I finished 140 games in total. I know that sounds crazy, but NES, SNES, and arcade titles will inflate those numbers quite a bit. That's also not counting stuff on Genesis, TG-16, Game Boy, Game Gear, and so on. Lots of shorter stuff on the retro side. In sheer numbers, I put in 489 total hours between modern and retro. Only 14 of my games beaten were new, leaving 126 retro games. Despite this, my time split between modern and retro was practically 50/50, with a very slight edge toward retro that was upset at the end by a 30-hour blast of Hollow Knight. anayo: Definitely agree with Ex, play Thief Gold. It adds one of my favorite missions of the game to the package, the mage towers, that wasn't in the original release.
