I loaded up Ninja Gaiden Black and couldn't "Load Game". Sounds to me like you never beat Ninja Gaiden Black. You must go back and do so now, or else you are Ninja Dog! Shame you don't like it. I enjoyed the first Otogi, I'm planning on hitting up Otogi 2 this year at some point. The first Otogi was very floaty too, but I liked that, made the game design feel more unique. Have you played this yet?:

After watching a vid, SpikeOut Battlestreet looks a lot closer to the original than I thought. I'm sure I'd love it. I'll definitely have to get a Xbox one day. Anything you need to do to get it to look good on a modern TV? Is it still considered impossible to emulate it? Seems like I HAVE to try Ninja Gaiden, I'm interested in Otogi as well, and there's at least 5-6 more games I'm interested in.

Anything you need to do to get it to look good on a modern TV? Xbox component is cheap and excellent. Easy! The Xbox options for widescreen are hit or miss though. I just set it back to full screen and manually changed the size of my TV picture, so it looks great in 4:3. Just last year I was still hearing that Xbox emulation hasn't progressed much. Ex: Looks awesome! Reminds me of that weird first person survival game on the PS2 or something.

Hmmm, looking at ebay, it seems both the consoles and games are very affordable. I wish I had more time and money, I would jump into it right now.

Yup, I learned about this two years ago or so... it's like top secret somehow. Nobody cares about the Xbox I guess, so the prices are extremely cheap and affordable haha. I even bought some brand new still sealed releases for like $10-15 here and there.

Yeah, I'm sure it's because most of the titles are available on other platforms, including PC. There's just not much demand when you can get a superior version elsewhere in most cases, and emulation is the same way. I do wish someone would improve the state of XBOX emulation; I'm pretty sure there are at least a few decent exclusives for the system like Panzer Dragoon Orta or Otogi.

Xbox games have always been dirt cheap in the aftermarket. I got into collecting for the Xbox hardcore during 2007-2009. I quickly amassed a library of over 200 games for the thing, many of them less than $10 brand new and sealed. I've sold tons of Xbox games off since then, but I still have a good 80 or so left.
Xbox exclusive games I recommend:
Breakdown Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes (only via co-op mind) Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders MechAssault MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf Murakumo: Renegade Mech Pursuit (only if you REALLY love mechs) Otogi: Myth of Demons Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors Panzer Dragoon Orta Phantom Crash (only if you REALLY love mechs) Phantom Dust Quantum Redshift Steel Battalion Steel Battalion: Line of Contact Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict
Do not waste your money on Gunvalkyrie. Just don't.

The Murakumo cover kicks ass. I'll probably sucker into buying a bunch of those mecha games at some point. I'm cool with Armored Core though so there's probably a good chance I'll like From Software's other mecha titles.
I want to like Panzer Dragoon Orta... it seems great, but I didn't have the patience for it when I gave it a shot a year or two ago. The bosses -literally- take like 30 minutes at least and if you die, whelp time to do it all again. The difficulty seemed high too. Maybe I just don't have the patience for rail shooters like this and Star Fox anymore. On the other hand, I've listened to the Panzer Dragoon OST's a ton over the years at least haha...

Weirdly, I hit a brick wall years ago with Orta, and I just stopped playing it. Then I picked it back up on a whim, and for whatever reason, I blasted right through the problem stage all the way to the end without a lot of difficulty. Don't know if it was just picking up some skill along the way, or just a lot of luck. But it felt like to me that the game started to "click" where it hadn't before.

I'll definitely give it another shot. I think if you beat it the original game gets unlocked.
