April's Club Retro Theme is First Person Dungeon Crawlers. I can't remember who requested this theme, but here's hoping everyone joins in. There are a large variety of FPDCs on myriad platforms. PC, consoles, handhelds, mobile, you name it. If you're interested in suggestions for a particular platform, ask away. Meanwhile here are some useful links: www.dungeoncrawlers.org/platforms/

Trippy. Made it further than I usually do, but I'm still not completely into it. And I still don't 'get' cyberspace.

I just ran into some objects that were keys apparently and unlocked gates, shot things, and yeah I don't even know. Just winged it! ...

I still don't 'get' cyberspace. This should answer any questions you have: shodan.fandom.com/wiki/Cyberspace- I've put together a list of 25 FPDCs I'm interested in: That's all more for testing purposes. I absolutely wouldn't have time to finish that many in one month. (Especially considering I'm still playing Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition = 38 hours in, barely scratched the surface.) I'm hoping to beat at least two genre entries for this theme though. I may beat more than that, if I hit on some shorter FPDCs. We'll see. - So who all plans to participate this month? What FPDCs do you have in mind?

Treasure of Tarmin is solid, though be aware that it's literally a compact "treasure hunt" and not a big sprawling RPG.
The Might and Magic games are awesome, but huge and meaty. Be aware that a single one can eat up a month (or more).
Shining in the Darkness is like a first-person JRPG, basically. Very fun, but like twice as long as it needs to be.
Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master are just all-time classics. Straightforward and a bit plain-looking, but awesome.
Arcana straight up owns.
Dragon Wars is decent, but play The Bard's Tale first. Also, NES??? There's a Famicom port, but I don't believe it's fan translated.
Lady Sword is a booby game. It's okay.
Swords & Serpents is a fast-faced console exclusive with pretty light RPG elements. It fun.

I found an English NES prototype. No idea how complete it is though. Also thanks for your input on the other games.

The only one on that list I've actually beaten is Arcana, and I agree with bonesnapdeez, it's a really good game. It's cut more from the Shining in the Holy Ark mold, in that battles feel very traditional JRPG in nature. I don't remember the dungeons being too brutal to navigate, although I do remember losing an end-game run when my game froze up. Thankfully, it didn't on my next attempt. I have played several others, and Might & Magic NES is one that I'd love to play through one of these days. I remember they had a ton of copies of this game in a Walmart in Jackson, MS, for way after the NES was dead and gone, and they never would price them down! It was really frustrating. I did finally get a copy, though, off of eBay.

Shining in the Darkness is like a first-person JRPG, basically. Very fun, but like twice as long as it needs to be. Arcana straight up owns. Yeah I saw GameFAQ's or some article somewhere that it runs for like 40 hours... this was the one I was eyeballing but not sure about now.
Arcana I've been curious about for awhile, the OST is killer.

Ex Wasn't it you? And yeah, I forgot about Arcana because it's been so long, but it's a solid game, similar to Shining the Holy Ark as Sarge said, in that it's basically a standard Japanese RPG in first-person, just with longer dungeons than average. You still travel the land from town to town, there are multiple characters, and there's a proper story.
