Surprised to see some big streamers playing it on Twich.
Man the aesthetic is amazing. Looks so much like what you'd imagine Doom 1-2 UAC environments would look like in a modern skin.

Happy to see SFVI rectifies the issues SFV had at launch. Single-player content is still quite desirable, even in fighting games.
Also, it wouldn't surprise me if they could get SFVI on Switch if they put their mind to it. I mean, they got SFIV on the 3DS!

Monster Hunter Rise is on the RE Engine, so perhaps it is possible (SF6 is RE Engine too. Most diverse in-house studio engine out there? heh).

Funnily enough, Tears of the Kingdom is apparently running on the same engine as Splatoon 3, called "LunchPack". Pretty wild that it was used in such divergent games.

That sounds more believable than hearing someone say it uses the same engine as Twilight Princess. I mean... maybe it's got some old legacy code from that era? But that connection I find a bit farfetched. But I'm no expert.

I wouldn't be surprised if certain functions were ported over, but it's pretty clear that the engine they're using is an upgrade over BotW. It's really impressive what they managed to pull off on the hardware.

it wouldn't surprise me if they could get SFVI on Switch if they put their mind to it. I mean, they got SFIV on the 3DS! I mean, you could get SF6 on the Atari 2600 if you really wanted to, but it would be a considerably diminished experience. Clearly Capcom didn't think the technological disparity was worth overcoming for the Switch. I do think we'll see an "Ultimate" version of SF6 on the Switch 2, though.

If there's one thing to never bet on, it's Capcom's loose loyalty per generation. I guess they didn't have the foresight to see the Switch would print crazy $$$ after awhile (I mean if we reverse time and look at the WiiU, maybe can't totally blame them haha). It got some old Monster Hunter ports and some random stuff, but it doesn't seem like they put much effort into the Switch the first few years. I'd say they were more focused on becoming one of the best Japanese publishers on PC around RE7's launch, Monster Hunter World blew up in 2018 which is probably when the Switch started taking off more. So we got Monster Hunter Rise but that one hit PC pretty quickly afterwards. World was a weird fumble to get to PC though, it took like ~8 months or something. But I hear going forward their next big Monster Hunter and support for it will be the same day on all platforms. World weirdly enough isn't in the RE Engine, it's still on the legacy MT Framework! Going forward I wonder if Capcom will have to keep making two A effort Monster Hunter games. The AAA one on higher end platforms but another on Nintendo, unless they can somehow make the next one super scalable.
I'm not sure if PC is the dominant fighting game platform nowadays but if anything, it certainly ain't Xbox...

I'm intrigued. People say it probably plays a bit like the Dragon Quest Heroes games... haven't played those but I hear good things (same with Hyrule Warriors).
