I just slapped that Retro Mystery Club Vol. 1 on my VNDB wishlist.... Amazing how similar that art looks compared to Hokkaidou Rensa Satsujin, especially the guy on the left. bonesnapdeez The artist for Retro Mystery Club is actually the same who did the graphics for Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin way back in the '80s, Kiyokazu Arai. No wonder it looks like an authentic ADV from that time. Also, it originally came out in 2019 in Japan, before those other two games. So if it does well, maybe they will release them here.

XeogredNew video goes into a lot of actual gameplay and explanations. To me it looks like AC6 plays very similarly to previous series entries, but with a shinier coat of paint. I'm A-OK with that. - A 5th Trine game is on the way, releasing late August. The video above highlights one of the three characters (the knight - you always have a wizard, rogue, and knight). I've previously beaten Trine 1, 2 and 3 with my wife. We got halfway through 4 and burned out on it, because it was so damned long, but not a bad game. 5 looks very much like an extension of 4. These are great co-op games with nice graphics, and recommended to anyone who enjoys physics based platformers with puzzles to solve (as in physics puzzles). I will buy 5, as eventually my wife and I will get back to beating 4.

Yeah I've been skimming the AC6 videos. Looks like AAAA mecha gaming. GIVE IT TO ME! One thing I have noticed in these AC6 videos, is the AC is very fast and often aerial. I wonder if that's just the preference of the player in the video, or if the game's designed with that type of AC in mind. I tend to favor hulking walking tanks with limited jump jets in these games, I may have to get accustomed to a new build if that type of AC won't hack it.

If the evolution of Souls is at play here... fast DEX builds are going to win. I think I did hear in some video somewhere that they're more lax on the fuel/boosting this time, but ammo can still be scarce.
But yeah I remember liking to use spider legs in the old games, think you could carry a lot more weight with those but still maneuver pretty well. Never cared too much for going full treads, even in Front Mission haha. But it was necessary in some missions there.

I didn't use treads, but I used the heaviest walking mech you could make. Then I'd outfit with sniping lasers and guided missile barrages. This type of AC design got me through a bunch of AC games. It also tends to work well with FM too. Though in FM I would use treads on some wanzers and just treat them as dedicated long range missile dispensers.
I'm looking forward to seeing how AC6 does in today's modern gaming world. I think folks going in hoping for "Armored Souls" are going to be in for a wake up. I don't think AC6 is going to be like that. And there's the whole meticulously designing your AC aspect, which was way overkill for casuals back in the day. I'll be surprised if that aspect isn't streamlined and more user friendly in AC6. With FromSoftware who knows.
