I love how it's a bit of a meta band too, those old dudes in Alan Wake haha. The Control tunes were awesome. Did you stumble upon that sound proof audio control room with the chair in the middle? Really felt like there was more to that whole room than it looked... DLC maybe? lol I actually played all of Control with headphones because the overall sound design and ambiance was incredible. Reminded me a lot of Portal's soundscape and its awesome entrapped atmosphere.

Yeah, I did. There's another one where you can play a Poets of the Fall song in there. This one, actually:

I truly thought this was some licensed band stuff in the game, until my friend reminded me this is Remedy's own thing in their games. I actually think that makes me love it even more haha, otherwise licensed tracks in games are kind of lame to me... though Kojima's got good tastes. And his composers cook up those awesome band-like tunes as well:

Thinking about it , I guess maybe remixes of a 1999 gameshould go in the retro section? I will post something actually modern here instead:

You know, I don't care much for the new DKC games, but dang if this isn't an awesome track.

Tropical Freeze is my second favorite after DKC1 now. I think I prefer chiptune era David Wise (that is probably my favorite TF tune though!). I think the first Returns still had a way better OST personally, admittedly a lot of it was remixes, but I freaking love what Kenji Yamamoto (Metroid Prime composer) did with those tunes, plus the one factory level that's in sync with the music was just incredible.

I guess this rendition goes here, but the master Uematsu still gets credit for this banger. When the normal battle theme sounds more epic than most boss themes...
