Very nice indeed. I have to admit, some of the music is great. I do remember, however, being kinda disappointed in quite a bit of the instrumentation in the original FFVII's songs. I actually thought FFVI sounded better.

I actually thought FFVI sounded better. You didn't play it on PC originally did you? I think I've heard the PC version was straight up midi!
There's definitely a dated nature to FFVII's sound though, but I find it really charming personally. I think the rough synthy edge fits quite well with its gritty setting.
So far all of FF7R's music has been top notch. Some songs even remixed more than once, so the variety has been awesome. It's full nostalgia, but they aren't playing up that card too hard either, it seems like the rearrangements put their own spin on the original tunes. As for the classic FF victory theme, so far I've only heard Barret hum it.
Are you hitting this up soon Sarge?

No, don't have it yet. Not sure if I'm going to jump on it yet.
For the original game, I wanted to play on PC at the time, as I didn't have a PlayStation, but my rig wasn't powerful enough to run it well. I waited quite some time for that version, too. So I ended up getting a PlayStation for Christmas back in... '99? And that was the game we got with it. I remember not having a memory card to start with, too, so I had to put off playing in earnest a bit longer.
I guess having to wait as long as I did set me up for disappointment. I enjoyed my playthrough, but I never felt it rivaled the best of the SNES. Discovering Symphony of the Night, on the other hand...

I remember one of my friend's that had a brother who apparently beat FF7 without a memory card, lol. Just had to leave the thing running for days/weeks. Stories like that are always pretty funny to hear about.

Doesn't hit as hard (literally, doesn't seem as bassy and heavy), but my favorite Xenoblade track is still as epic as ever.
The remaster looks freaking amazing. I didn't think I'd be this excited to replay this beast, but I definitely want it now. Sounds like it's selling well and got extremely high scores again. I'm glad this game got another chance.

My favorite unofficial Streets of Rage banger... think GeckoYamori did this one, or I'm mixing him up with someone else...

Been watching some streamers co-op SoR4 on Mania. Looks like fun.
Easily the best track to me.

Apparently one of the few new tracks in Zodiac Age, so I'll post it in this forum. Loved this area and theme!

I wish I was Masashi Hamauzu. I don't know many other composers of any industry with such a Godly style like this. FF7R (did a lot on it) this year and going back through his earlier games, realizing he did a lot of FF10, etc has cemented him as one of my new favorite composers. Epic, fast paced orchestra, frequently with a tint of sci-fi/synth... this dude just knows my ear-aesthetics.
