Also wanted to rant, China has yet to earn my trust to enter my favorite entertainment medium and things like this aren't helping their case.
I'm sure there's software and ways to brute force your way into games, being able to access data, assets, code... I'd like to believe there's maybe been a universal unspoken code of conduct that American, Japanese, etc developers just know. But China obviously doesn't care in other fields. Would not be surprised if they're mining out data from all the AAA games out there.
This is one of my greatest fears for the future of gaming if I'm being honest. Hollywood already caters almost exclusively to China lately due to them being the new biggest box office. And I'm sure China aren't blind to the fact that even through 2020, gaming has been on the up as one of the dominant markets. All this hype around Genshin Impact bothers me for sure.
I'm sorry to tiptoe around the politics here, but just had to rant. People were flipping out at how cool the upcoming Chinese Monkey King game looked as well, but my interest was immediately shot when I realized they were making it. I'm sorry but again, they have yet to earn any of my trust right now.

Eh, I've seen those animations enough times to not call shenanigans here... but I do get your point. Chinese developers have often not respected IP rights and outright stolen assets before.

Yeah, well there's that and the game clearly looking like a BoTW ripoff but with generic anime girls.
My concerns with them are serious for sure though. I mean, if they stick to "living games" and gachi styled crap that I never play, it won't personally be an issue... at least for some time. I hope they know their place as newbies to the field and their influence doesn't worsen my gaming .

To accuse China of blatantly stealing intellectual property is not a political statement. There are countless objective factual stories to back it up. Cheating is practically encouraged in their culture.

Souls, Devil May Cry, Musou/Dynasty Warriors... checking all the Japanese action game boxes.
There's already a bunch of Chinese Souls clones on Steam but they generally seem janky as hell and look pretty terrible in motion.

Random modern gaming question: I'd like to finally get around to playing Yakuza 3, 4, 5 etc. It would be on console. What would be the best option? Get a used PS3? Or a PS4, and get the remastered collection of all three? Any opinions?
EDIT - Also, will a regular PS4 do the job or would I really need a PS4 pro? I don't care about the difference in resolution.

I guess it depends on how cheap you want to go. Not sure what PS3s sell for, though. I'd probably look and see if there are any unique titles on PS3 that you'd like to have, and if there aren't, consider getting a PS4. Also, apparently the script is improved in the remastered version? I'm guessing there aren't any major Pro features for those games, especially considering they're not a massive bump up from their PS3 versions. Also, I see that some cut content was restored, and apparently one bit removed. Don't know much beyond that, so I guess I'm not being very helpful here! But it sounds like you can get the entire series on PS4, so a base PS4 sounds like the most ideal to me... unless you want in on that sweet PS5 action. EDIT: Oh, and if you go PS4, definitely wait for Black Friday deals. I have a feeling they'll be down to $200 or cheaper for the base model.

Hmm, Black Friday is very close to my birthday, so that could be my gift to myself. There are a few PS3 games I'd like to play, but they may be playable on the PS4. I'll have to check. I remember hearing about all the hostess-related content cut out from Yakuza 3 back in the day. Apparently they restored in in the remaster (and thus localized it for the first time), but they did take out a couple side-quests (though this change originated in Japan, not with the localization).
