Yeah, I wish they could have come up with something better, but I also can see why they removed the old version, since it was an Islamic prayer. Apparently it came from some sample CD, and then they realized what it was and replaced it. Nintendo tends to avoid that kind of stuff, even if they make a lot of allusions to aspects of real-life religions without explicitly naming them.

Yeah, me too, although I suspect it's an easy mistake to make. I'm not exactly well-versed on Islamic prayer, although I would have immediately recognized the style, at any rate.

Nice writeup, Anayo. Very informative for a complete Zelda ignoramus like myself. I'll get to it eventually. I've gotta say, the original Fire Temple chant is infinitely better than the silly WiiUWiiU chanting from the new version. Hopefully you can find roms with the original track and red blood. I knew of Half-Life, MGS1, RE2, Turok 2, Quake 2... Parasite Eve, FF7, TRAG Hard Edge, Duke Nukem 3D One of those is not like the others. Nice to see you back dude.
TRAG Hard Edge is probably one of my favorite hidden gems. Definitely a goodie.
