Welcome to insanity. Welcome to... Horrorble Month. No, horrorble is not a real word, it is a well thought out, original portmanteau of horror and horrible. Original material, do not steal. Anyway, do you like horrible games? Probably not, unless you're laughing at how bad they are. Still, that's what is on tap here! Is there a game the Internet or Metacritic has deemed utter, irredeemable trash? It's fair game! October is also spooky time, so horror games are also a natural fit. So if you have anything that fits within a horror/gothic theme, those are fair game, too. Although I would very much argue that awful games are their own brand of horror. And if you really want to make it spicy, combine both themes into an unholy concoction of terror and pain. There's no way this could go wrong!

Nice OP Sarge. I plan to fully engage with this theme in October. I barely got to play any video games (relatively speaking) in September. Gotta make up for that this time around.

It'd be hilarious if no one ends up actually beating any of the horrible games. Normally I don't like playing games for any extended period of time if I'm not planning to finish them, but for this theme I'll allow myself to do just that. I'm especially interested in The Ring on Dreamcast, but literally no one likes it, so I don't know how long I'll be able to tolerate it.

I'm not sure how toei made one thread in this section, but I wanted to make a goofy intro myself this time until I couldn't see the "Create Thread" button. Ah well, maybe another time. Even if people don't beat bad games, it might be fun to hear some horror ible stories. For traditional horror, I'm not sure if I'll get to anything this month. I usually get the horror bug some other random time throughout the year. But these are the three big PS2 games I've been needing to play someday...

Oh, you should just make a goofy intro just for the heck of it.

XeogredAll of those are on my "definitely want to play someday list". I think @tsumuri may have beaten all of those already. I plan to play horror games, and horrorble games. Although I may not actually finish any of the horrorble games, but I'll talk about the torture.

Nah, I did play all of them but I've only beaten Rule of Rose, which I won't reiterate how much I like. I want to beat Clock Tower 1 & 2 for the PS1 before tackling Haunting Ground (since it's a spiritual sequel to that series) and Kuon suffers from some emulation hiccups - it's playable though. It's a survival horror Lost Kingdoms game set in ancient Japan, basically.

It's a survival horror Lost Kingdoms game set in ancient Japan, basically. Oh! I did not know that. Considering how much I adored the Lost Kingdoms games on GameCube, I'm definitely gonna have to check Kuon out. I used to own a real copy of Kuon back in 2007. I loaned it to a girl I was dating at that time, along with my copy of Siren. She hated both Kuon and Siren. Unfortunately I never got either game back from her before we split up. Looks like Kuon commands a high price nowadays. Oh well, FreeMcBoot then.
Back around the same time, I put a few hours into Haunting Ground. I remember thinking it had excellent atmosphere, the dog mechanic was interesting, and the game's protagonist was quite attractive. I ran out of patience quickly though, due to having to constantly hide from the giant mongoloid that constantly hunts you down. I realize that's kind of the point of the game, playing hide and seek with a monster - it just wasn't a design I was fond of at the time. Nowadays who knows I might actually like it. I definitely think it's a PS2 game worth playing for the protagonist alone if naught else.
