for sale: video games price: Exactly what these go for on eBay. I want to get paid the eBay rate for my items without paying for paypal fees, eBay fees, or shipping. I still expect you to pay that stuff, but I’ll just pocket it all. how to get the games: I will expect you to get in your car and use your gas to drive to a location that’s convenient for me even though for my asking price you could order these games from the comfort of your home in your underwear to have them shipped to you in the mail. return policy: I guarantee that these games work. If the games don’t work, I will totally not ghost you and not get back in touch with you, even though this isn’t eBay where you could get customer service involved and forcefully take your money back from me when I pinky-promise that the games work but they are actually broken. purchase conditions: You must buy all the games in lots which I choose. I will not let you pick a game out of the lot. I understand that Gunstar Heroes is more appealing than Madden ’94, but I want to sell these as conveniently as possible all at once. I don’t want to have to deal with lots of individual sales of individual games. So, I expect you to buy things you don’t want because that’s more convenient for me. game lots: You must identify the game lots from blurry, out of focus jpegs taken on a 10 year old smart phone. Some of the games will be out of the frame. Some of the games will not have their spines or identifying information visible in the photo. If you ask for more details, I will give them to you, but I will act irritated about it. Then I will proceed to not update the listing with the details that I provided you. Thanks!

Very interesting. I can see a blurry Sonic in that shot, anyway, and what's probably an NBA Jam logo.

I don't buy many physical games nowadays, but I did buy some supposedly new-mint PS2 games where the wrapping was badly torn even though the copies shown in the pictures looked pristine.
You can also come across a lot of fake 'factory sealed' games nowadays. You can spot it because the wrapping is often a tad too loose or the PS2 security strip is missing, etc. Obviously only an issue if you're a psycho who likes factory sealed games like myself.

Very interesting. I can see a blurry Sonic in that shot, anyway, and what's probably an NBA Jam logo. I took another photo which was merely out of focus, but I could still identify all the games from the shapes and colors of their logos. So I shook my phone around to make it even worse. That's interesting, I didn't know about that. I did know there was a problem with Chinese repro cartridges being passed off as the real thing. I also had an experience once with a guy on eBay who sold me a repro cart of Starfox 2 for well under the going rate. When I got the cart, the plastic was a weird white color. It looked like someone was trying to be unique and artistic but failed at it. That wouldn't be a big deal, but in the photo it looked like the standard gray plastic SNES games are supposed to have. I showed it to my brother for a sanity check and we agreed he must have photoshopped the picture to conceal the paint job.

I hope that is a literal listing you stumbled upon. anayo : I'm not sure if this is still the case, but I remember hearing years ago that the GBA collecting scene was plagued with a lot of bootlegs and fakes, guess it was really easy to swap parts from those carts. In my experience, eBay's usually been great in the decade plus I've been buying from there. When it comes to buying for older generations, I do NOT recommend Amazon. I'd much rather see some legitimate pictures of what I'm buying first. Unfortunately, Westerners didn't take care of electronics and media very well back in the 90's*. I've noticed this big time with the 6th generation. People just trashed manuals, got stains or tears all over game cases, some even retain a smokey stench, and there's probably like millions of loose discs without cases floating out there from that gen. Pretty sad. I sometimes do Amazon if the price seems worth the gamble, but yeah. In general just be extra cautious with the 6th gen... I think the Wii kind of has those issues as well, but I'd like to believe from the PS3/360 and up people are hopefully taking better care of these things.
* I'm knocking on the US and our laziness, because from what I've gathered over the years, Japanese people generally took extremely good care of these things in comparison. Easy to see this in YT videos and people that live over there nowadays and such. You walk into a used game store with 80's/90's electronics and everything still looks mint. Collecting for old generations doesn't seem like it'd be as stressful over there.

You can spot it because the wrapping is often a tad too loose or the PS2 security strip is missing, etc. Obviously only an issue if you're a psycho who likes factory sealed games like myself. Back in the day when Rainbow Six III was new, I got a copy of it from Walmart but it turned out my family PC was too crappy to run it. I can't remember the whole story... but I remember taking it into EB Games at the time and told them the situation, they took it to "the back" and brought the same box out sealed up from whatever machine. Then I took it to Walmart and got all my money back. I guess it's funny since Walmart probably would have taken it back anyways, but yeah. From that day on I realized how easy it is to seal up used games. I forget if Vintage Stock does it in the Midwest, but some mom and pop shops would seal up games and even carts as well. Supposedly there's a science to detecting a legit brand new factory seal though and spotting fakes, heh. I figure the corners need to look tightly untouched.

Y-folds used to be hard to fake, so if a sealed game had a Y-fold, it was most likely legitimately new. But those days are long gone. If you 100% want to be sure you're buying a legit sealed retro game, good freakin' luck man.
Modern games are easier to buy online brand new, because you can still buy them directly from Amazon*, Walmart, or Best Buy. Any major online retailer isn't going to be selling pirate shit. *I mean from Amazon the company itself, not third party sellers on Amazon.

Some pieces of the seal even stuck to the case like they do thesedays!... which is so annoying.
In my case I've always been good with Prime enabled Amazon sellers, even if it's not directly from Amazon. I have heard some insane stories from some friends online and whatnot though. Waiting weeks on an order or return, getting questionable shipping boxes and whatnot, etc. I have heard strange things about their weekend/Sunday delivery staff as well, like they might be some contractors. I'm not complaining though, it's great being able to get packages on the weekend.
I think location is a big factor too, so luckily I seem to be in a good region for Amazon purchases. Not to knock on wood... but in my near 15 some years I've been buying from them it's always been a good experience for various products. Gaming wise though, yeah that's when I would sometimes step outside of Prime sellers and buy from small stores, then you start playing with fire a bit.

I got a can of unopened Beanie Weenies from a gag gift last Christmas. (Maybe that's why they call them "gag" gifts, ha.)
