Nice run! Maybe I can work my way up to that, although it's going to be tough. I think what I need to do is remember to take a pause break when I stop being able to parse the screen like I need to.
I have played Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo with a buddy of mine, and let me tell you, shenanigans will ensue. I had what looked like a sure win, only to have the exact right piece drop for him at the last second, clearing his entire screen and filling mine. It was insane.

Oh! See some of you guys hit up Dr. Mario, I'll try to give that and Tetris a run this weekend. Level 17 on medium seems legit. I used to play Dr. Mario competitively against my grandpa back in the day and both of us did NOT hold back, it was awesome. Haven't played it much since then. My sister likes Tetris a lot though.
Did you guys take a look at the SNES double Tetris & Dr. Mario as well? That's actually probably the version of Tetris I played the most of growing up. Kind of a shame it wasn't on the SNES Classic, my sister really wanted that... their (MY) old SNES finally died on them a year or so ago. It looks like puke yellow. I inherited my grandparents excellent condition SNES years ago though, so that's been mine now. True story, when I was in my teens at some point my grandpa asked to borrow Donkey Kong Country for awhile once. I thought that was so cool. They had a Wii, but we just played the SNES haha.

I hope you didn't throw it out! It's usually something simple to fix it. Outside of the obvious like power supply, video hookups, just needing a massive cleaning, and so on, I've also had to fix one that didn't even power up. There's a fuse in there that can blow, and that was the issue with that one.

I don't want anything to do with it, I've relinquished it to my family. Don't underestimate how terribly they treat electronics! I was disgusted by the shape of their PS2 and the controllers especially (cords were all chunky), when I saw them over the holidays. And they're all hippies. I don't know how I came from that.
The one I got from my grandparents like 10-15 years ago is still practically mint. I take care of these things.

Haha, okay. Well, I've brought quite a few systems back from the grave, and I occasionally watch videos where folks go and repair junked systems. I find it interesting to see just how bad some of those systems can look.
Oh, and I got a little further in Dr. Mario. Level 12, 78,600 on score.

Slightly lower level, but higher score thanks to the higher speed.

I beat the first two worlds of Fire 'n Ice (NES) today. So far this is very high quality stuff. It's also fairly tricky already, and I've still got 7 more worlds to go.
A (crappy) video to show gameplay:

This reminds me of another single-screen puzzle game series I played for a while:
There's four of these games, and each of them has a ton of levels. I never beat any of them. They were downloadable MegaNet games, the first, Japan-only online service for the Genesis, and I think they're all on the Sega CD Games no Can compilations too. Not bad.

Pyramid Magic looks highly decent. Never knew of it, thanks for the mention! Fire 'n Ice is actually Solomon's Key 2. Tecmo just renamed the game when it came over to the USA. But in Europe it kept the real name: In Japan the game is called Solomon's Key 2: Coolmint Rescue Mission. The USA cover art is horribad: Yeah Tecmo, that just screams take me home.
