Yeah, I'd be surprised if I don't get a 7/10 out of it, honestly. It's not blowing my socks off, but I definitely like a lot of what it's doing.

You really do have to throw some checks under the table to get Sonic on Sarge's good side...
Ex: Just changed the option and yeah, makes a difference in GG Aleste II for sure. I tried the "GG Zoom" you have enabled there too, but I prefer it without it myself.

Well, in fairness, Tails Adventure is very different indeed. And I do really like (just not love) the Genesis games.

PC Engine, of course. But yes, Nintendo was (and often still is) my jam. I will say that I sold a friend of mine yesterday on playing through Phantasy Star IV, with the words, "I think it's as good as Final Fantasy VI."

Hah, high on the Genesis right now. I was more of a Nintendo kid too though, but yeah.
After MUSHA blew my face off again tonight, I can't wait to see how Compile's SNES Super Aleste is in comparison, which will be completely new to me. It looks freaking good.
As for GG action, I played the first world of Ristar too tonight and it seem awesome, I'll probably get back to it. Feels different enough from the Genesis version to warrant a run through. It also runs and plays really well, looks like it pushes the tech to the limit.

I'll be interested to see what your take is on Super Aleste/Space Megaforce for sure.

I watched some footage again and it looks incredible, but oh so different than MUSHA in a humorous way after finishing that one. But it seems like Compile played up the strengths of both systems. I almost want to joke that the Genesis is Iron Maiden and the SNES is Rush, but that probably only makes sense in my own head haha.
While I haven't focused a ton on the GG, it helped pull me out of that rut I was in a bit for awhile there.

I mean, there's no question in my mind that the Genesis and PC Engine were better suited to shooters, but I do think talented devs like Compile did good stuff on the SNES, too. Kinda makes me wonder what would have happened if Technosoft had actually put some effort into the SNES, instead of just letting someone else put Thunder Spirits on there.

Yeah, just to clarify, it was just "humorous" to see some Super Aleste after MUSHA, since Super Aleste looks a lot softer (colors), more elegant, etc in visuals and sound. As usual with the SNES. There's no way I can see all my favorite SNES JRPG's working on the Genesis. But then the Genesis packs an extra metallic punch and grit to it with the really good titles that wouldn't be possible on the SNES either.
I agree though, I like Thunder Spirits well enough and it's got some new unique stages compared to III/AC, but yeah Technosoft themselves surely could have done a lot better if they actually developed it or got to work on the SNES.
