Was playing Tiny Toon Adventures on the NES last night. Why is this game so hyped? It doesn't look great, the controls are floaty, the characters jump way too high (with bad physics), which is a source of cheap death, the level design is mostly flat, and the the bosses are joke. There are a couple neat levels in the middle, but that's about it. I know it has mixed reviews, but some people really love it. I don't see it though.

I like it okay, but I agree that it's overrated. To me, it's just another solid B-tier platformer on the system.

I grew up liking it a lot at least... but yeah I tried playing it again within the last year or so and got stuck on the first boss. I guess you just have to wait it out and keep jumping over her.

I do think it would be a good platformer for a young kid, but unlike some other hop and bops, I don't think it holds up well post-adolescence. My 2c at least.

I think adults who praise Tiny Toon Adventures as an above average platformer, are doing so from a place of nostalgia rather than objective reality.

Finished Sly 2. A better game than its predecessor, full of charm. However, I was feeling burnt out by the end of it. The mini games are still tedious garbage that break the pacing. The open level design was fun, but playing as Sly's companion wasn't; the designers built the levels for Sly's moveset.
All in all, I give the game a rating of 8/10.

Chema: Glad you at least enjoyed it mostly. I was fine with the companions, but I do agree that Sly is the most fun to play as. This one is probably the high point of the series, in my opinion. Sly 3 was a step back, but Sly 4 definitely makes a jump back towards the quality level of Sly 2.
