Doesn't sound like a bad idea. I think I'm reading that you can get two Book of Satori's in the SNES version, the second might be more work though. What I want from the Thief is that chest count check spell in dungeons haha. Say I could only get one Sage though, to me it feels like it would be best to change the Cleric. I saw back on the first page you would switch over your Wizard though. The perk I'm seeing with the Wizard is that they have the biggest MP pool and that growth carries over, though I guess stats get halved or something if I'm reading right and then you start the Sage at level 1. The Cleric has like half the MP that my Wizard has, but by making the Cleric a Sage I'd have two characters that can do good offensive magic. But perhaps making the Wizard switch, them turning Sage might end up with even stronger base stats in the long run, even if I still just used that character purely as the glass cannon for offense?

So I can confirm that the Dragon Warrior 3 anime (Legend of the Hero Abel) is fully subbed, all 43 episodes. I should start watching it.

Xeogred : I think your Cleric should start getting more MP? There shouldn't be a huge gap, and my opinion was always that having an extra healer only helps. I will tell you, though, to make sure you snag the Sage's Stone in the last dungeon, too. It will make a huge difference in your survivability in the last encounters.

Maybe I'll just reference a walkthrough after I trek through a dungeon to double check I found everything, heh.

Also, I'd wager that much of the gap is the personality - default growth for your Cleric (Agile), but 130% for your Mage (Smart).
It's pretty hard to miss the Sage's Stone, so I wouldn't sweat it. Not even really sure why I needed to mention finding it, more that you should be using it constantly during the final fights, which you probably already know from other entries.

Yikes, that must be it. Hope I can change my Cleric's personality sooner than later.
Got it loaded it up now, both characters level 12:
Cleric MP = 48 Mage MP = 94
That's a huge gap. So maybe even more apt that I make my Mage the Sage, so she gets some healing too if needed. I was reading that it's probably ideal to get Bikill /TwinHits before changing and I think I'll want to get Boom too. Otherwise guess it would take awhile to re-level up to get those spells.
Maybe I should even make a new Cleric.

And yes, the Mage does get more MP, but yeah, that's a pronounced gap. I'm pretty sure there's a Smart Book you can get, though, so that shouldn't be an issue eventually.
EDIT: Ah, there we go. Have you hit Romaly yet? There's a Smart Book there.

EDIT: Wait! I still have the Cheater Guide, which would get my Cleric to Alert, 120% in INT, compared to 100% as Agile right now.

Something I did think of was the stat distribution in the game. It could be that having the boosts eventually will taper off, regardless, given that there are threshold values beyond which gains are minimal. It's why you shouldn't use Intelligence/Vitality Seeds, something I didn't know until recently, because it actually harms your long-term growth in HP/MP.

Good to know 8 hours in I guess... I'm starting to hate how Accessories in this alter your Personality too. Not permanently like the books do, but it's pretty lame. Glad this gimmick was seemingly ditched after DQ3 I hope?
My characters are doing good though and at better stats now. The pyramid and desert area was pretty dang brutal but I wrapped that up today and got the Magic Key now.
