Yes the PS2 translation I posted covers the very first two games in the Atelier series. I enjoy the Atelier games personally. They will put hair on your chest.

Game name: Steam-Heart's Released on: NEC PC-98 Release year: 1994 Developer: Giga Publisher: TGL Translated into English by: Psyklax About the game: "Steam-Heart’s is an action shoot ‘em up game for the PC-98. The game itself has NSFW content." (RHDN) Patch location: www.romhacking.net/translations/3509/I've beaten the PCE-CD version of this, it was pretty good. The PC-98 version has some differences. Some folks like its OST better, and I believe the PC-98 version is even more NSFW than the Saturn or PCE-CD versions are.

That weird apostrophe drives me crazy! Half the native English speakers I know seem to mix their plurals and possessives (management handed us greeting cards marked "Happy Holiday's" last December), so I just cut the Japanese some slack, even if that game's cover reads like it belong to a group or person named Steam-Heart to me. Actually, isn't the hyphen weird as well? You wouldn't write "steam-engine".

I think it might depend on how you use it. If it's an adjective for another object, I think you can hyphenate. For instance, "steam-engine train" might be okay. And yeah, I give 'em a pass, too. Tons of English speakers mess that up. I always stop myself to think hard about it; not getting it right drives me a little batty. (I don't generally jump on others, though. It's more that I care that I get it right myself!)

Game name: G.O.D. Released on: Super Famicom Release year: 1996 Developer: Infinity Publisher: Imagineer Translated into English by: Dynamic-Designs About the game: "This is an English translation of G.O.D. for the Super Nintendo. The game centers around the character of Gen, who wakes up in the middle of a post-alien apocalypse world. After awakening a mysterious power inside his brain, he travels the world in search of others like him, and he makes it his mission to defeat the aliens. G.O.D. is a typical turn-based RPG in which Gen travels the globe. On his journey, he’ll go to real-life geographical locations, meet historical figures, and learn a series of special abilities to help him take on the aliens. The game is FULL of puns and jokes, and it breaks the fourth wall on occasion. Note that this humor is present in the ORIGINAL game; however, in some cases changes had to be made in order to localize the humor for the English language." (RHDN) Patch location: www.romhacking.net/translations/3515/Slowly but surely all SFC JRPGs will be available in English. There was also a new translation released for a Ranma 1/2 fight game, if you care: www.romhacking.net/translations/3516/

Usually I'm wary of Dynamic Designs' translations since my experience with Shell Monsters Story (I don't think the script editor's politics belong in a Japanese RPG), but it seems this one was edited by Draken, so it's definitely exciting news! I remember G.O.D. seemed like one of the cool untranslated ones.

God is good, and I will definitely be getting a cart to play it again in English (with my RetroFreak).
Agreed that Daikaijuu Monogatari had an ass translation.

Game name: Last Bible III Released on: Super Famicom Release year: 1995 Developer: Multimedia Intelligence Transfer Publisher: Atlus Translated into English by: Tom About the game: "Last Bible III is a sequel to two Last Bible games for Game Boy and Game Boy Color. You control Shieru, a young boy who lives in a small village on a planet with a medieval civilization. With the help of his friends, he should fulfill an ancient prophecy and defeat the evil that threatens the planet. In order to do that, the heroes of the game have to recruit demons who will help them in battles. As a part of Megaten universe, "Last Bible III" is focused on demon summoning and fusion. The concept is more developed in this game, since demons are now fully customizable characters that can level up and be equipped just like human party members. Unlike most Megaten games, Last Bible III is set in a medieval environment and has a more traditional flair. The battles are viewed from first person perspective in a standard Megaten fashion, but movement on the world map, in towns and in dungeons is controlled from third person perspective with a top-down view." (MobyGames) Patch location: www.romhacking.net/translations/3545/--- Game name: Cleopatra no Mahou (The Cursed Treasure of Cleopatra) Released on: Famicom Disk System Release year: 1987 Developer: Square Co., Ltd. Publisher: Square Co., Ltd. Translated into English by: DvD Translations About the game: "Cleopatra no Mahō (Cleopatra's Magic Treasure) casts you as Daisuke Kusano, the son of an archaeologist. You had come to spend summer vacation with your father at a dig in Alexandria, but now he has been abducted by demons in fulfillment of an ancient curse! You must set out on a quest to ancient tombs and temples along the length of the Nile, battling thieves and demons in search of an ancient necklace–the Tear of Isis–with which you can dispel the evil spirits and free your father. The game is an adventure/RPG hybrid, with simple turn-based battles occurring within the framework of a typical menu-based first-person adventure game. Movement, examination, and interaction are all achieved via menu options (go, look, take, use, etc.); battles simply restrict the menu to three basic combat options (attack, use item, or flee). The player character levels with experience, but this only determines maximum HP, while attack and defense are based on the best weapon and armor currently in inventory."
