Nice! Definitely wish I had Shining Force III in particular. I should probably look into importing the Japanese versions, at any rate. In the days before SF3 scenarios 2 and 3 received English fan translations, that was a major inspiration for me to study Japanese. While I liked SF3 scenario and wholeheartedly recommend it, 1 I found the formula started to wear on me halfway through scenario 2. However my patience for RPGs later in life has sunk to a below average level, so you may find that you like them more. Much to my embarrassment I never got around to spending quality time with either of those. I need to play them when I have a "Sega Saturn year". The Saturn FPS I played the most as a teen was Quake and the Saturn 1 on 1 fighter I played the most was Vampire Hunter. I remember chibby remarking, "This is like spooky Street Fighter."

anayo SFIII Scenario 2 feels more like filler than Scenario 3, actually. Story-wise, it's just a different group of people going through various things that tie in with Scenario 1 around the same time; Scenario 3 mostly takes place after both, so it doesn't just tie everything together but primarily advances and conclude the overall plot. It's the proper sequel to Scenario 1. I'd actually give it a shot even if you tired of Scenario 2. The middle one was clearly the weaker one to me.

An interesting look at the various versions of X-Men: CotA. Apparently the PC port is pretty baller, although I do think there's some weird pixel scaling going on there. So I did get quite the experience back in the day, probably better than either console port.

I had forgotten that COTA on the PS1 came some time after Marvel Super Heroes. That's a crazy lapse in time.

The Sega Saturn is my favorite game console. One day I should write about my favorite Saturn games and why I like the console so much. It was the system that most closely aligned with my gaming tastes during an important time in my life also. My favorite Saturn games are still a blast for me to play even now and I play them often. Usually I post about the US released Saturn games I like, so here are a couple Japanese ones I like that I wish got US releases: Oh, I also loved (and still love) the look of '90s Capcom games and the Saturn had some nice Capcom releases:

Chainsaw Bilqis Speaking of Japan-only Saturn exclusives, have you ever tried Hissatsu? I posted about it in the current Club Retro thread here.

I have always wanted to try it, but never found a copy back when it is possible for me to buy. I am going to guess it is quite expensive now haha. I did try to play it on my computer a few years ago but could never get it to work. It looks awesome for sure though, I will check out the post!

One day I should write about my favorite Saturn games and why I like the console so much. I would enjoy that, and HRG even has a forum section for such things: hardcoreretrogaming.boards.net/board/3/member-article-submissionSadly during the Saturn's day, I was too poor to afford the system or its games. Also none of my peers at the time owned the system either. It was a weird SEGA fever dream that I only saw in magazines.

The Saturn is one of those systems where I really wish I could read Japanese - it seems like there are a ton of games that didn't make the jump that are worth checking out.
