Not surprising, honestly. All these analog sticks are sourced from the same place. It's not impossible to get a bum stick, even from the factory. Thankfully, Valve actually made it quite easy to swap sticks out.

True enough, I hope your sticks have no issues. It's to be expected that a new game console (or handheld) from a producer that's never done that before, might have a few issues. But even Nintendo has this problem.

I ought to be excited about the Steam Deck but strangely enough I feel perfectly content with my Nintendo Switch. I'm in the same boat.
I do wish Valve success on this, having computer games on a hand held will be fun.
Huh valve is having joystick drift. I don't recall having this issue on my N64, GameCube, or PlayStation. But it definitely happens on my Switch (which Nintendo did fix at their cost.) I've meet people with drift on PS1 controllers, but that is more of a they damaged it situation... Maybe I have rosy glasses.

I ought to be excited about the Switch but strangely enough I feel perfectly content with my Sony Vita. What intrigues me about the Deck is that it can run Windows, which means it can run Windows emulators, which means it can run PCSX2, which means it's a portable PS2. A portable PS2 has been a personal dream for a long time. I'm very intrigued to see what Sarge thinks once he's on Deck.

Looking good on the emulation front. Figured PS3 was going to be out of reach in some ways, but apparently this testing was done on the Windows side, which isn't even completely optimized yet. Also a good chance that, if running on power supply/docked and being able to up the TDP, we'll see better performance.
