I need to get back to Fragile Dreams one of these days! Also, I'm guessing that's an emulated screenshot - it definitely doesn't look that nice on my TV.

I'm guessing that's an emulated screenshot Yeah that's a Dolphin shot pulled from Giant Bomb.
I'm personally playing a legit copy of the game on a legit Wii, and nah, it doesn't look that nice on actual hardware. I do think Fragile Dreams is an above average looking game for Wii though. Strong set designs.

Yeah, I agree with that. I wish the video output on the Wii was a bit cleaner - that's my only real gripe. Too many devs using that flicker filter/blur filter. Actually, I should probably look around and see if patching the DOL file will make it clearer. It definitely helps some games (and does virtually nothing for others).

Maybe that patch would help?
I'm outputting through the official Nintendo produced component cables. As good as one can get I suppose. But an analog signal over anamorphic widescreen into a digital HDTV can only be so crisp.

Yep, there are pretty hard limits. You can definitely see the difference in games that allow you to disable the flicker filter, though - check out Super Smash Bros. Brawl and see the difference in clarity.
I'm using official component cables as well. The Wii is known for having not quite as good a component signal as the Gamecube, though, so there's that angle as well. I've never actually seen the GC in component, myself.

I've never actually seen the GC in component, myself. Neither have I. I run my GameCube through Monster S-video cables into a CRT. It looks very crisp that way, well I'm happy with that output. I don't think I've ever seen official GameCube component cables... I bet they fetch a hot price.

Cool, thanks for looking into it man. Well it's not like we play Wii games for the graphics anyway, I mean in a "seventh gen" sense.

Just wanted to say I picked up Resident Evil 4 for Nintendo Switch. I was inspired by getting into Mario Sunshine for the Switch, which made me wish I had more Gamecube games on my Switch. I'll try to play RE4 for this month's horror theme.

Was planning on playing more Boktai last night, but hit an absolute wall and went to bed early. Hopefully I can finish it up today.
