I thought that if you started on Pro, you didn't have to play it twice. When it loops over on Practice, is it still on Practice or does it become harder?

Right now I've got 3 hours invested into Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. HLTB says this one takes about 13 hours to finish, so I've still got a good ways to go. So far I enjoy the game, and appreciate how unique and unusual it is in totality. However, the inventory management/equipping menus are not well designed, and their interfaces annoy me. Also breakable weapons aren't great, ever. That said, the chief complaint I've seen about Fragile Dreams is always "the combat system sucks". Honestly, I've had no issue with the combat system at all. I'm not sure what people's problem was there. No lock-on perhaps? Is it really so hard to point yourself towards an enemy and hit the attack button? Anyway, this game is definitely intriguing in an ethereal and melancholy way. We'll see how it turns out.

I probably will not have any time to complete a horror game this month because of my work, and also because I am indecisive about what game I want to play lately. Right now I am playing Juggernaut (1998) for PS1. I read what was written about it in this thread about the awkward controls and puzzles, which makes sense, but sometimes "clunky" games are not too much an issue for me depending on a few factors. Well, I guess it will just depend on how much time I get to spare haha. I will at least play a few hours before bed. I will see what it is like at least.

I've been wondering why I took to the SNES Goemon games so well this year, and not so much Goemon's Great Adventure, but now I know. While it pretty much mimics the structure of the SNES games (especially the second), it also really suffers from the move to 3D. The game just doesn't play as smoothly, the visuals don't have nearly the pop of those gorgeous sprite-based games, and the camera is a little weird in that when you inch forward, it doesn't really catch up to you quite correctly, leaving you closer to the edge than you'd like. This is a problem because there are a lot of enemies that like to come at you from off-screen, so not having as much time to react is not great.
Of course, the game isn't bad at all, but it's certainly a letdown compared to what came before. Maybe more time with it will change that, but I dunno. At the very least, I actually have some sense of what's going on now since I've finished all the mainline SNES games.

Right now I am playing Juggernaut (1998) for PS1. I don't know much about that one, it'll be interesting to see your further opinions of it. I do know there are quite a lot of horror games on PS1 for sure. One that falls within the realm of Juggernaut which may be of note: - I put another hour and a half into Fragile Dreams this evening. Most of this particular play session was not enjoyable, some very lame game design. Basically a character steals something from the protagonist, and the protagonist spends a long time trying to chase the thief down and retrieve the item. So there are hide and seek parts, with crappy stealth aspects... just ugh. Also the majority of enemies I fought were just normal pigeons of all things. Whatever, maybe this part was a fluke, hopefully the experience will get back on track from here on out.

I moved to Hybid Heaven. Let's see how crazy it is.

The stuff you mentioned there bothered me even during the game's day (rented it right when it released). Turok's crap level design kept me from beating the game. I don't blame you for dropping it.

Made sure I finished at least one N64 game for this month, and it's one of my favorites: Mario Tennis. I still think this is the best of that series; later entries started focusing on power shots and whatnot that diluted the pure tennis action. And this is a game that feels sublime to play - very arcadey but still grounded. I haven't put much time into Virtua Tennis, but I've also heard that skews towards the arcade-style play, and I bet with some time I'd love that as well.
Anyway, Planet Cup was pretty tough coming cold - I actually lost several sets, and dug myself out of some deep holes. In the end I won out with Waluigi. 9/10, would play again.

Mario Tennis > Virtua Tennis. I need to buy a Transfer Pak one day so I can sync up my N64 and GBC saves (or whatever it is it does, I'm not actually sure).
