Okay, that split screen multiplayer almost makes it worth it me as it adds value. If someone will add 3DS, I'm sold. I don't have a good 3DS to TV solution, probably because of the touch screen.

Doubtful the MiSTer in its current incarnation will ever hit 3DS level - I think the Saturn/PSX are both considered to be the absolute max of what would be possible on the current hardware, and even then folks aren't completely sure it will fit. We'll see!

Yep, I played around a bit with the core the other night. Seems pretty great. If you use the updater-pc script and enable Jotego's beta branch, you can grab the core and all the ROMs for it in one go.

If I've asked this already somewhere on this board please bear with me, but how is input latency on the MiSTer? Is it any better than emulation?

Yeah, it has much better input latency. It's going to vary by controller, but even most USB controllers give sub-frame latency. There's no emulation latency at all due to it being FPGA-based. I haven't messed with them, but they also have "SNAC" converters that let you hook up native controllers in a lagless fashion, so you don't even get the latency you would with USB. But believe me, USB by itself is super fast... as long as you have the right controller. List of a bunch of tested controllers here: rpubs.com/misteraddons/inputlatency

SargeThis knowledge pleases me. I am very anti-latency, especially after trying in vain to beat Mike Tyson on an emulator with really bad input lag.

Yeah, I don't remember if I was on my CRT or LCD (probably CRT), but I was able to beat him with my third-party 360 controller. If you want to play on CRT, there are a couple of ways to do it ( there's something called Direct Video that works with HDMI and a converter), but I ended up buying the analog I/O board and it works really well. You can hook up to a VGA monitor if you want, or convert it to component and play on a CRT. That's how I played through a ton of games I've beaten this year, and honestly, it feels fantastic to play them that way.
