This is a bit late because it already came out, but before Forespoken came out I wasn't looking forward to it.

I… I actually like Pokémon Violet 🥲 It’s not without issues but- to me- they don’t hamper the gameplay. I do wish it were a smoother, more polished game, of course. There were similar criticisms for Pokémon SwSh and I liked those too. :/ That said, I absolutely hated SM and XY failed to impress me after I got my interest reinvigorated by BW (DP lost me and the remakes of GS didn’t feel as good to me).
To be on topic, I’m pretty much not looking forward to 99% of releases. Mostly because they’re off my radar and mostly because I’m trying to be as selective as possible with new games. I already feel like I need to lay off video games and work on other things (it’s not going great but at least I painted a bit and have played board games with a new friend).
I also don’t have a PS5 or whatever the new Xbox is called (is it series s?). The newest thing that I have is the Steam Deck and I have a backlog of games I’ve gotten from humble bundles and other sales on there with a handful of them being titles I actually want to play. Some are actually games I have or had for other systems that I decided I just wanted to have an additional copy of on Steam for whatever reason.
I’m likely only going to play the new Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Dragon Quest, and at this point, Ys with maybe some standout here or there like how Elden Ring was for me last year. I’m likely still going to be selective about Pokémon although if the next one improves on SV (shouldn’t be hard to do) then I’ll likely jump on that.
We can grumble like the old men we are but there seems to be a market for the stuff that keeps getting churned out these days. As long as I have the backlog that I have and as long as we get titles that appeal to specific demographics instead of trying to chase the impossible-to-please general demographic, I’ll be fine.
Edit: come to think of it, I’m likely one of the youngest, if not the youngest active member of the forum? Maybe that’s why I’m fine with how Pokémon is, since I have nostalgia goggles on for it? It’s not like RB weren’t glitch riddled too.

Dear Disney,
Nobody wants Tron to be a thing. Stop trying to make it one.
