This sounds like a better plot than any of the Paper Mario games have. You hating on Paper Mario? Maybe I'm biased because my partner really enjoyed the Paper Mario games, and she's not usually much for gaming so it was a good experience for us. I get that it's no Super Mario RPG, but there are worse N64 games out there.

No I'm not hating on Paper Mario. I've only beaten one game in the franchise so far (the N64 original) and it was good. Its plot however wasn't nearly as interesting as Sarge's dream.

You make a compelling argument. I can't disagree Edit: This thread just got Meta. I had a dream where I got on this forum, saw this post, and was horrified to discover that I'd typed some illegible garbage word comprised of mostly v's and j's and experienced intense shameful humiliation when Ex got back online and was like "... Wuh?"

I dreamed I was replaying Sonic 1 on the Genesis and just now realizing it was this really innovative game with clever mechanics and puzzles integrated into the platforming. In my dream, Sonic 2 and every other after had been made by a different team, and everybody had just forgotten the first game and how ahead of its time it was. I think it was the Shinobi / SoR team that had made it, with Rieko Kodama involved.

Last night I dreamed I had a device for my Nintendo 64 that was basically like the Sega Channel, except for N64. It was a cartridge with a modem and flash memory built into it for downloading game demos. I think you could stack other cartridges into it to enable online play. This made it possible to do stuff like play 007 Goldeneye deathmatches. It still worked in the present day because it used some kind of of peer to peer dial up thing instead of servers. I remember thinking it was a shame it came out so late in the N64's life. I also mentally compared it to the Japan-only N64 DD in my dream.

As much as I hate on the N64, that would've been a cool gadget, and it could have used the additional software. Kinda like the Switch has a million indie and smaller games now to make up for the small number of high-profile releases.

The Japan only 64DD used the online Randnet service to let users browse the internet and share N64 game data. Also, the Super Famicom had the Satellaview network.

I dreamed I was at Goodwill where I found some kind of modification kit for the Sega Genesis. It was a cheaply made Chinese product with a poorly translated instruction manual and had a slot for an SD cart. But instead of a simple Ever Drive cart, it was this bewilderingly complicated tangle of plastic and wires and required some soldering to get it working.

That reminds me of two little gems I discovered a few months back in the deepest recesses of some Chinatown store:
