But would you say that if you knew I was going to, from time to time, use a guide? Yes. Absolutely.

But would you say that if you knew I was going to, from time to time, use a guide? Yes. Absolutely. I was about to be like "okay, I will!" but then googled it and I don't have 50 bucks handy... Also I've never emulated anything that wasn't pre-3d or handheld (because technically some Gameboy Advanced titles were 3d, but, you know). So... Maybe later?

Shadow Hearts is excellent. Its actually a game that I would recommend some light walkthrough reading, just because I know I missed some really cool shit due to missing one single thing in my playthrough.
Fwiw, any moderately capable pc can emulate most ps2 games very well. The laptop I bought like 7 years ago (for like $400, so it was average at best even back then) can rock PCSX2 without issue.

The best way I can describe my laptop situation is that my little brother bought me a game for Christmas that he said would "run on a calculator." I can't play it...

I wish the Shadow Hearts series would get ported to PC. Imagine in one collection:
Koudelka Shadow Hearts Shadow Hearts: Covenant Shadow Hearts: From the New World
I bet the legal rights to all that are a spaghetti nightmare though.

I'd buy that, and I even already own 'em all.

My PC can't handle about 50% of the PS2's library at full speed. I think Shadow Hearts is one of those I can't play, because it's got compatibility issues with my shit AMD graphics card, and software mode can't handle the cutscenes. I could technically switch between hardware and software every time there's a cutscene, but that would just ruin the experience.

Do you have the PS2 network adapter? Have you thought about using Open PS2 Loader? That's how I roll, and it's wonderful for many reasons.

Nope, don't have it. I'll fix the situation at some point, I'm just not in a hurry to with my current backlog.
