I know Anayo and I are diligent (him more so than I) about scouting around our local thrift/pawn locations looking for gold. I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we brag about our recent finds/engage in moderate and friendly one-upmanship about the best deals we've ever found. Recent Find: I went with my In-Laws to an Antique Market. Usually I never see anything at these places for myself, and when I do it's generally not priced particularly well. As luck would have it, the only booth that had a decent gaming collection had put all their games on sale for 1 dollar. I picked up these two that had otherwise been marked at $12 and $4 respectively. (I thought Toei would appreciate my having added something Ninja Related to my collection). Best Find: In Greensboro NC there was a thrift store that only existed for about 3-4 years. Most times they didn't have anything that I cared about, but once, I found Mario Kart 64 with the box and the manual for $1. That might not be the game that I got the best deal on, or a game that I ultimately play that often (I really suck at ALL racing games) but it's definitely the most memorable find because it was so unexpected.

Ha, I didn't know that one. I'm still playing catch-up with the PS2's enormous library. I took a quick look at a video, it looks pretty cool.

I'm still playing catch-up with the PS2's enormous library. I accepted long ago that I will die before I play most of the games in my PS2 Library. That's probably true for most of my gaming libraries, but it feels especially true for the PS2.

Silpheed is a great pick-up, and I've always loved that iridescent cover it has (GunGriffon Blaze on PS2 also has a cover like that).
I don't shop for games in the wild, I buy all my games online (99% of the time at least). So happenstance deals aren't really a thing that randomly happens in my life. I don't really have anything to offer this thread in that regard. I do occasionally find really good deals on eBay or Amazon though.

Well, I wasn't expecting to find this. I had a buddy of mine that told me he was in a pawn shop in one of the sketchier nearby towns, and saw a bunch of SNES stuff. He wasn't kidding, although pretty much all of it was sports. However, they had stuff for just about every system, and the gold mine was the GBA section. They sold everything at $5 a pop, so I came away with the haul in the pic.

Sarge, Wow, look at all those GBA carts! 13 year old me would lose his mind. I've still been meaning to play Astro Boy: Omega Factor one day. I found this today at Goodwill for $15: Pictured: Spyro the Dragon (Playstation 1) Crash Bandicoot (Playstation 1) Crash Bandicoot (Playstation 1) (Yes, there were two copies) Jet Moto 3 (Playstation 1) Timeshock! PRO-PINBALL (Playstation 1) Turbo Prop Racing (Playstation 1) CTR (Crash Team Racing) (Playstation 1)

I'd take one of those Crash Bandicoots off your hands. That's actually the only one I'm missing. Great find!

Haha, someone did the ol' cart swap trick. "Prehistorik Man" is actually Beyblade G-Revolution. Whee! I'll probably return it when I get a chance to pass back through, but neither of them are worth particularly much, so no biggie.

Sarge - I approve of all those pick ups except Lilo & Stitch. That one kinda sticks out as a wtf? Also getting Beyblade G-Revolution instead of Prehistorik Man is a blessing in disguise IMO. - anayo - Turbo Prop Racing, Crash Team Racing, and Jet Moto 3 are all worth the $15 easy!

Lilo & Stitch is actually a Contra clone. No, really!
