I think the SMT3 Remaster release also drove down the price of the original game.
The only thing about porting the SMT4 games, is they use two screens simultaneously as part of the primary gameplay. So to port them would take some interesting screen compromising. Doesn't help that the two screens also use dissimilar aspect ratios. Not saying it's "impossible", of course. But to do so elegantly would be challenging. This is the same reason I believe we've not seen any Etrian Odyssey games on Switch, despite how well they sold on DS/3DS.

I'm not sure how I feel about some of the newer SMT's having voice acting. I guess younger gamers think that automatically makes a game more prestigious or better but I digress. Watching videos of SMT3 remastered, I'm glad the PS2 original didn't have voice acting.
I'll just have to accept it though because I need to play like 10 SMT's now.
And yeah, they reprinted SMT3 and DDS1-2. They've consistently been around that $20 range. But I guess they didn't reprint the PS2 Devil Summoners, those are like $200 now.

Yeah pretty sure the Summoners did NOT get a reprint. And yes voice SMT3 was just dumb. That works against the atmosphere and creepiness of the NPCs.

Yeah, I'm lucky enough to have snagged both of those back in the day. I even have the little Raidou Jack Frost plushie.

I get the vibe Jack Frost is the "cute" Slime of the SMT series haha.
The "Emperor" himself Black Frost was awesome in SMT3.

That's a really good price, especially considering how much Gamecube prices have spiked.

Just saw this for $420 on ebay.
This was $60 something on Amazon.
I own both. I forget which one came with Wind Waker (pre-order bonus? I'm guessing the OoT + Master's Quest disc here since the other comes with a Wind Waker demo), I had more fun with these than I did Wind Waker...

That's a really good price, especially considering how much Gamecube prices have spiked. Years ago I'd have turned my nose at a $20 for a disc only copy of Windwaker. But now on eBay it's like $40 for just the disc. I have the Wii U version, but I also have a soft spot for the Gamecube so I couldn't say no. Was somebody just asking $420 or did it actually sell for that much? Me too. At the time I think I got rid of my N64, but I got in the mood to replay Ocarina of Time. It was nice to be able to do that on the Gamecube.
