Note what he said, though, about being some sort of Dell-variant card. Those have given me issues in the past, too - my laptop chipset is a Dell version GeForce, and it doesn't always play nice with the drivers I have installed. Wouldn't surprise me if that were my issue with Deus Ex. I should probably consider dropping back to my old drivers.

anayo SargeI'm not familiar with any "Dell variant" version of the ATI Rage 128 Pro. Never saw that back in the day. My Rage card didn't have any Dell logos on it or any branding like that. For the record this is the exact card I recommended anayo: www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/rage-128-pro.c1716Typically in a situation where a company will stick their name on an OEM product, they just are rebranding it, and not changing the chipset itself. So I still recommend using the official driver I linked, over the "Dell" driver. If it doesn't work for some reason, sure go with the Dell driver.

Yeah idk I just know when you recommended me the card I couldn't find one less than $20 on eBay. Then Black and White ran in the mid teens fps even on minimum graphics settings, so I checked again and some guy had listed a "Dell 07K114" variant of the card for $9. After buying it and receiving it in the mail the only drivers I could get to work with it were here: www.dell.com/support/home/en-id/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=r20463In other news, I have added a 60 GB slave HDD to this computer. Now I don't have to juggle game installs on the 4 GB compact flash card.

I just know when you recommended me the card I couldn't find one less than $20 on eBay. I guess it speaks to the testament of that graphic card's quality, that 21 years later it still holds any value at all. I'm definitely not familiar with that variant, but if it's practically the same as a legit Rage Pro 128, your games should be running a whole lot better on that ol' rig. Do let us know how it goes!

For anyone that has Twitch Prime, there's a bunch of Neo Geo games and the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection available for free.

Have you played Contra 4 before? Should be really interesting if you haven't.

I bought a bunch of games from Ziggy for around $32: - Dark Forces ($7) - Curse of Monkey Island ($10) Shipping killed me because I also took a bunch of (free!) PS2 games off his hands: - GTA III - GTA: Vice City - True Crime: Streets of L.A. - True Crime: New York - Tony Hawk 3 - Tony Hawk Underground - SOCOM - Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Spider-Man Can't complain at all about that, and having a legit copy of Dark Forces is cool.

Big box Dark Forces? I have never played Contra 4... I hear it might be one of the hardest? I ordered it since more 2D stuff in my wheelhouse seems like a fun comforting idea right now after The Messenger. But yeah, probably won't be "relaxing" much with Contra 4.
Sadly I opted for a loose cart though, since it's getting pricey otherwise. I guess maybe I'm fine just getting loose carts for handhelds... I was hoping it was maybe on the eshop, but guess not.

Nope, just the jewel case, but I'm okay with that.
Contra 4 is tough. Real tough. I ended up farming extra lives in one of the tunnel stages to make my push to the end. I like it, but sometimes the dual-screen mechanic just doesn't quite fit what I like in Contra - it makes it pretty easy to get pasted by shots from the other screen. But the gameplay itself is an excellent amalgam of Contra III and Contra/Super C, which means I'm predisposed to really want to love it.
Actually, I'd love a rework of the game on a larger screen. That could be tremendous.
At some point, I give up on "complete" copies for a system as well. It gets too hard to get them otherwise. And you really have to just take what you can get for NES/SNES/Genesis-era stuff.
