They put the left circle pad in the wrong place (yes, I'm a staunch defender of Nintendo's thumbstick/circle pad placement, I like Playstation controllers well enough but they're flawed imo). Otherwise, that's a beautiful system. Sucks the battery is difficult to replace on all these things, though.

Interesting. But that also means it should be quite beefy. Kazin: I know a lot of folks that are very particular about their analog stick/pad placement. Some don't like the disjointed placement of the 3DS (or XBOX) and prefer DualShock, others the other way around. I can roll with both, but I do absolutely prefer the 3DS/XBOX setup.

I haven’t had a Retroid Pocket before but I’ve heard good things about them. I love my RG353V but after several months of use, and maybe because of the modification I’ve done to it, it’s already feeling a little weird. Especially anything that requires shoulder buttons is not as pleasant to play. I like clam shells so that Retroid Flip thing looked attractive to me. Unfortunately, it’s all sold out and goes for around $170. Hopefully it’s better built than anything Anbernic has put out.
And yeah, an XBOX/Switch layout would’ve been best. And a second screen. We’d finally have a good 3/DS emulation device.

I haven’t had a Retroid Pocket before but I’ve heard good things about them. I own two of the original Retroid Pocket 2 units. They look like this: It has a 3.5" screen, and can emulate everything from PS1 back perfectly. The newer Retroids are more powerful of course. My experience with my Retroids, is that they are solid well-built, well designed units. They feel like premium handhelds. My only complaint with the Retroids I have, is that replacing the battery in them is a pain in the ass. Which again, bothers me for devices that use lithium ion batteries that degrade over time. It should be easy to replace those batteries with readily available sources (like AAs or AAAs for example), instead of using proprietary weirdness that you have to disassemble the unit to get to. But would I buy another Retroid product? You bet. I recommend the brand.

I wish they'd make a mini-system for those consoles that didn't sell very well, like Sega Saturn A limited Saturn could work Sega Saturn would be an interesting one if a truly good Saturn-mini released, with a top 30 collection of the very best Saturn games, I might bite on that www.timeextension.com/news/2023/03/its-official-sega-poll-reveals-fans-want-the-sega-saturn-mini-next"Sega Japan has finally announced the results of the Mega Drive Mini 2 questionnaire, most excitedly revealing what mini console Japanese players want next. It appears the Sega Saturn was the clear winner with 88% of votes from respondents, with the Sega Dreamcast coming in second with 79%, and a potential third Mega Drive Mini earning 69%."

Well, finally got the Retron 77. Had to wait for my 40th (big oof) birthday.
Pretty cool so far. Love how tiny it is; was able to hook it up immediately without rearranging my gaming space.
Could be a great idea for someone who wants to get into the Atari 2600 but doesn't want to gamble on the ancient hardware.

Got another friend of mine turning 40 this June. Fun times. I'll be 44 then, which is... a bit horrifying, actually. Ah, screw it, age is just a number.

Well happy birthday bonesnapdeez, welcome to level 40. I wonder how many of us are in our 40s now. I'm 44, Sarge is 43, bonesnapdeez is 40. I'm pretty sure nullPointer is in his late 40s. Anybody else?
