I can't wait for this one! Did he mention anything in regards to how sales will be handled? Will he go thorugh a retailer, like Stone Age Gamer? Or will he handle the sales himself?

I haven't heard anything yet. I'm waiting for that update myself. I don't back him on Patreon, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get the first shot.
Speaking of flash cart stuff, I've been having "fun" debugging a bit on the EDN8. I booted Batman back on Saturday, and had freezing issues. During the course of testing, I exposed some interesting behavior about how it handles the file system (not well), and also found out that RC3 works pretty well. I put RC4 back on from a fresh install and it bombed almost immediately. I really, really wish someone would put out an NES flash cart that was as solid as the other systems.

I actually did see a comment on his Patreon page that Patreon backers will get first dibs.

Ah, gotcha. That's actually good on him; the folks supporting this endeavor should certainly get the first crack at it!
I'm really excited to see how it turns out, and I'm hoping it ends up priced more reasonably and more available than the Rhea/Phoebe ODEs.
Has anyone messed with the PSIO yet? I would buy one and do the modding myself, but honestly, I need a new system as well, since both of my PSX models are the ones without the parallel port. I'm hearing mostly good things about it; I think they sorted out the XA audio issue. I think perhaps Vib Ribbon is one of the games that has issues, but I'm not terribly concerned about that.

I've been wanting to get a PSIO, but there's a ton of stuff I want to get. I wish there was a Game Genie for life that I could put an infinite money code on.
I really want to get the Super SD System 3, but that's even more expensive. I actually purchased a PC Engine Core Grafx late last year with the intention of getting the Super SD System 3, but I haven't had the spare cash to get one yet.
What's this I'm hearing about an Sd2snes Pro that's coming out? It has a more powerful FPGA, and the hope is that the more powerful hardware will allow save states, Super Gameboy support, and Super FX overclocking. It wont cost any more money than the old model.

Yeah, the Pro is out, from my understanding, and it's basically a hardware refresh that was forced because the old chips were getting too expensive to source. There is more room on the FPGA, so there are limitations that can be bypassed along the way, like MSU-1 support with SA1 games, potential save state support (since my understanding is that will require emulation of the sound core to make it work), and more. How long it takes for those things, though, if ever, is up in the air. I'm okay with sticking with my old model for now; it does everything I care about, to be honest.
I probably would have gotten the SSD3 if I'd known about it before I bought my current Duo. I shelled out $330 for that! Still, it's a'ight, I'm just happy I got to fulfill one of my childhood dreams of owning a TG-16/Duo. Now about that Neo Geo...

Yeah, I decided that the Pro was not for me, so I took advantage of the sale on the last of the old models last month to finally upgrade from my Super EverDrive. Even if they add all of this stuff to the Pro down the road, I either don't need it (Game Boy support when I already have an GB EverDrive) or would never opt to use it (save states, MSU-1 over original presentation).

Yep, I dabbled briefly with the MSU-1 stuff, but really feel that in most cases, the original music just suits the games much better. And since I recently bought a GB ED as well, I don't care about SGB. Save states would be nice, but they tend to be buggy even on the systems that support them, and I'm sure that would be the case here as well.

Wait, did Krikkz just have some kind of sale on Everdrives?
