I played Hyper Iria earlier this year, actually! I thought it was a'ight, but it didn't light my world on fire. You probably don't even have to suggest a Castlevania title to me, though. I've definitely gone through Belmont's Revenge a couple of times. The followup ain't good, though. I've played through about half of Mega Man ZX Advent. I don't know why the ZX games haven't quite clicked with me, though.
I've had Trine for a while, and always meant to get back to it. It did seem really good from what I played.
Lots of PSX stuff! I did download Little Ralph a while back, and I might try to burn through it somewhere I can actually save; I don't think it has any sort of save feature. I'm going to see about finding the others and throwing it on the PS Classic for sure.
I think I remember you mentioning Deadly Creatures before. I'll see if I can track it down as well! I didn't know about the mech game, either!

I tossed it on the PS Classic last night, although I need to see if I'm actually using the translated version or not. I'm not getting any text displaying, which means it's probably a Japanese font issue. I didn't even beat the first boss, though.

This game is awesome. If you don't believe me, ask Xeogred . Simple DS Series Vol. 18: The Soukou Kihei Gun GroundDo you like Assault Suits Valken? This is pretty close for your DS. I love ZX: Advent. I always hear people say the original ZX was better and while I like that game as well I feel like Advent was a big improvement. I'm still pissed there was never another entry in the ZX saga to wrap up the story and it's highly unlikely that there ever will be now. I have Gun Ground (because OF COURSE I do) but I've had a hard time really getting into it. I like that it's got the Armored Core/Front Mission customization going on but the missions aren't very exciting. It's really neat for a Simple Series title though.

Yeah, I found Little Ralph impressive for a pure platformer, but it's really two to three times as long as it should be for a game meant to be finished in a single session. Should have had saving. Also, the mine cart level wasn't necessary.

Advent is so underappreciated. I guess the ZX series' spiritual successor is the Azure Striker Gunvolt series, but I've not played those yet to confirm (plus they're not HRG-compliant yet). It's fairly difficult, and can be grindy, but I enjoyed beating it. I do wish the game had an English fan translation though.
Another really fun platforming-shooting Simple DS game I enjoyed beating: SIMPLE DS series Vol .31 THE Super Bullet! Custom TankIt's hard to find Youtube footage of this game, but here's some offscreen: If you enjoy the tank driving parts of Metal Slug, it's good stuff.

I really didn't like ZX and wrote off Advent for like a full decade assuming it wouldn't gel with me either. Finally played it last year and had a blast! I still don't love the story/characters in these spinoffs compared to the Zero series, but yeah. Gameplay wise I had no issues with this one, even if I still didn't love Capcom's attempt at some half-Metroidvania format. But yeah, only two ZX's feels pretty wrong and unfortunate.

I don't know why, but I've actually played Korokoro Postnin a few years back, not sure if I would call it a platformer, but what do I know. As the most casual platformers player on HGR, I'll just mention a few platformers I've beaten and enjoyed: Well, that was fast. There are others that I've enjoyed but never beaten like Felix the Cat, Rockin' Kats, Rayman, etc. Also several games with platforming elements in them like Viewtiful Joe, and the Prince of Persia games. I'm a platformer ignoramus, I know.

not sure if I would call it a platformer, but what do I know It isn't a traditional platformer where you push jump to get over obstacles. Rather in this game you rotate the world around your character, treating her fall like a controlled jump, in order to clear obstacles. Which includes scaling individual platforms at times. It's a non-traditional platformer.

I'd definitely like to check out more Klonoa, I played one on the PS2 or Wii and it was one of the more legit 2.5D styled platformers I've played. That was all at a friends though, so my experience with it was brief.
Rayman 2 in particular seems to have a good reputation. I don't think I've ever played the 3D entries yet actually.
