Hey guys. I'm going to be working on a Twisted Metal based video for my Youtube channel this month. I currently only have Twisted Metal 1 and Black but I'll try and record as much as I can. What I'm looking for is just some simple information from people about their experiences with the game that I can use as voice content on it.
Favorite Game out of the Series Favorite Character/Car Memories of first time playing If you won the tournament, what would your wish be? Anything else that comes to mind about the games
Thanks guys!

This is a series that I personally haven't spent much time with. I recall when Twisted Metal 2 released back in 1996, it was very positively received. I knew a bunch of people who loved paying it multiplayer. Also Twisted Metal: Head-On on PSP was another big hit from what I remember.
The only Twisted Metal entry I've personally spent any decent time with though, is Twisted Metal (2012 relaunch) on PS3. That one is too new for HRG, so I won't go into details about that particular release; I'll just say I didn't finish it.

This was one of those series that all the kids my age found cool in the PSX era based on its appeal alone - the evil Clown car, rockets, explosions, etc. Sort of like Mortal Kombat, on a much smaller scale. I have limited experience with it, though. I rented it once, I think, and it was fun, but that's about all I can say.

I too can't say my knowledge of this series goes that far, but yeah it was really popular back in the PSX era from what I remember. Just about everyone knew of these games. I think I played a lot of one of them at a friends off a demo disc of all things, probably 2 or 3. The Clown car guy is pretty memorable.
I got more into Vigilante 8 on the N64 since I actually owned that one.

Been a long time since I thought about Twisted Metal. Twisted Metal 2 was definitely my favorite of the bunch and Thumper was my favorite character (who doesn't love flamethrowers?). I was annoyed at how much they nerfed him in 3 and didn't really touch any installments past the PS1.
For vehicular combat I was more into Interstate 76 on PC which was almost a MechWarrior-ish sim but with cars. It's probably debatable how well those games held up though.

I wish I could weigh in on this, but I don't even know that I'd even touched a game in the series until I briefly booted it up on the PS Classic. I definitely remember them being quite popular, though, and tons of advertisements all over the place. I read some of the backstories for characters, too, and man, some of them are dark.

Haha. Thanks guys! I figured I'd make a post here and there around places to see if I could string up some extra content like people's memories and favorite game and stuff. Trying to actually do a good video instead of just one of me playing games.

Carmegeddon 1 and 2 were also good stupid fun in their day. The former was probably my favorite DOS racing game, because you could just kill everyone instead of race. I need to keep an eye out for Twisted Metal 2, for some reason I never picked it up even though I played a lot of it back in the day.

I was a N64 kid so I never got to play Twisted Metal. Instead I played Vigilante 8 as a rental from blockbuster. I really liked the Las Vegas level. I also had an issue of Nintendo Power my mom bought for me from the newsstand with Vigilante 8 cheats which I used to unlock the Roswell alien and his flying saucer. It's interesting to think about how many of those things just aren't a part of the gaming landscape anymore, like game rentals, cheat menus, and the entire 3D destruction derby genre.

Yes there are a fair amount of unique genres, that were popular in the fifth and sixth gens on console, which basically ceased to exist in the 7th and 8th. RIP futuristic racers, for example.
