Yes indeed, December's Club Retro theme is all about SEGA's final console, the Dreamcast! That is to say, playing Dreamcast games. There's quite a library available, so if you want any game guidance, HRG is always here to provide recommendations in whatever genre you're interested in.
Besides playing and discussing Dreamcast games, feel free to share your memories of the Dreamcast too. This was an exciting console from an exciting time in this medium.

Man, the Dreamcast. I got mine from a friend of mine's brother. I actually bought Grandia II before I even bought the system from him! As luck would have it, he also owned Marvel vs. Capcom 2, which I put an inordinate amount of time into, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which I played a surprising amount of despite usually not caring for such things. Fun times indeed. Still got 'er hooked up right now, and maybe I'll get some serious play time in this month.
Speaking of which, if I wanted to roll together last month's and this month's theme, are there any good ninja games on there that I'm completely blanking on?

Well, definitely The Last Blade 2. Which is a great fighter, of course. I tend to prefer it to Samurai Shodown. Been a while since I made a run through DOA2. I have the Japanese LE version on a CD-R. Actually, I have a lot of Dreamcast games on CD-R... but also a surprising number of legit releases.

The Dreamcast is dope, but it does suffer from only having half a lifespan, and as such, half a library. If I have time, I want to play through Cannon Spike and Zombie Revenge, two arcade action games I've played before but never finished.

Cannon Spike and Zombie Revenge I've beaten, and enjoyed, both of those. Definitely recommended.

Are Naomi and Atomiswave games okay to play for this? Considering both the Dreamcast and the Atomiswave are derived from the NAOMI, it's all close enough (technologically speaking) to count.

Ex Okay that MLK meme was spot on! I'm going to be laughing from that for days. The Dreamcast was my first Sega system and I loved it. I probably played the most Street Fighter III, Soulcaliber, Seaman, and Blue Stinger (okay that last one isn't that good.) I loved that system way more than PS2, but ya half a life span. I'm considering Silver, but I've never tried crazy taxi.

Tonight I finished the first two missions in Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise from the Ashes. This is a first person mecha-combat sim, reminds me a lot of Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri actually. So far, I'm impressed with the experience, and have enjoyed the proceedings. But, who knows what my final take will be. I will say this is a RTFM game, fairly intricate controls and layered squad command systems. More depth than I expected given it's a licensed mecha title.
