Yeah I didn't really know what you meant when I read that initially. I don't have a clue what to do about Bald Bull's charged up run attack. I'll just dodge it forever until the time runs out.

How far can you guys get in Punch-Out without utilizing Select and Start? If you mean pushing Select to get life back while Doc talks, I could get far without that. If you mean pushing Start to do Star Punches, not gonna win without that!

Oh, right, there are spots where it's almost mandatory to have those, like the second Bald Bull fight.
For Bald Bull's charge, you can pop him in the gut just before he reaches you and he'll go straight to the mat. Just be careful and watch how many steps back he is - he takes three hops from the back, but two when at the middle of the ring.

For Punch-Out, select, no problem. Without start might be hard...
Edit: I just did second bald bull without start. I can only knock him down twice per round, but in the third round he didn't come up, so yes he is beatable. 3rd round KO.
Also, you can defeat the second Don Flamigo without start, at first I thought that wasn't the case.

Super is a really awesome game that is habitually ignored. Both during its release era and into the annals of classic gaming.

Both really are fantastic games. Man, it felt good to take that game down. I still think Rick Bruiser is tougher than Nick, just because of the off-speed stuff he throws. I slipped by on relatively few attempts on Nick because it's more pure reaction time, which is the same way the Tyson fight works.

I agree, Rick's timing seems slightly RNG reliant. Rick and Nick are seriously difficult opponents. But I'll tell you, that Treasure boxing game I beat for this theme - may even be harder. Its boxing system is much more complex and the higher level enemies are 100% RNG. It's something else.
Did anybody here ever play the Wii Punch-Out!!?

I've played it, gotten the first belt, but haven't finished the title defense. That game gets really brutal, too. Almost all the boxers have off-speed stuff that just destroys me.

I definitely wouldn't recommend playing it with motion controls. I played using the "NES" configuration with a Wiimote.
Oh, and I'm playing a wrasslin' game I've always wanted to beat - Tecmo World Wrestling. It's quite excellent, especially for its vintage. I don't know that it truly does anything particularly different from Pro Wrestling (also an excellent take on the sport), but it stands out with its excellent presentation.
