Aonuma wanted to make a sailing and fishing game but Miyamoto said, "No. You make Zelda." So Aonuma said, "Okay... I'm making a Zelda game sure..."

I can actually respect that theory.

I can actually respect that theory. I had a shower thought theory today about KF. Maybe the KF games move so slowly because Japanese people often get motion sickness with first person games. Fast moving western FPS are often problematic for Japanese players, for example. So maybe it was that FromSoftware kept the KF games moving slowly to help stave off motion sickness. 🤔
'There's another possible reason first-person shooters never really took off in Japan: there's a better chance they'll make people nauseous.' "Japanese people have a genetic predisposition to motion sickness," said Huntley. "That's why most Japanese games actually don't let you control the camera. It's why they don't play first person games, really, in Japan. Actually, a lot of people will actually take motion sickness pills before playing a VR game. That's how hardcore they are. They want to enjoy it, even though they know they're going to get sick. They buy pills just so they can play the game. Anything camera related, that can make anybody feel remotely queasy, that's just a no-go for Japan." ( article )

That would explain why there seem to be more warnings on Japanese games.

That would explain why there seem to be more warnings on Japanese games. Yep. Not just motion sickness, but Japanese are genetically predisposed to seizures from rapidly fluctuating colors/flashes too. I'm sure some of us still remember the Pokémon Shock incident.
