Rolled the dice on Chocobo's Dungeon 2 and Dragonseeds from GameStop. Hoping at least one of them has manual/case and that the discs are fine. The price is in line with disc-only copies, though, so it would be a good deal if that happens.
These are a few of the only remaining PSX RPGs I have left to snag. At this point, I believe the only ones left will be King's Field 1/2 and the Digimon World games. I'd rather have complete copies of the KF games if possible, and I don't think the pricing on them is quite as good at GS. Or at least for the first game; the second is fine, but they're out of stock and have been for some time.

Thought I was going to get a crazy deal on Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II for Gamecube... but the pawn shop apparently knew what they had on their hands and priced it at $100. Bummer. In the past, they had the same pricing on all PS2/GC/XBOX stuff.

Guess I got another rare one in my collection if that's the case. That's the only version I played, put 90 hours offline on that sucker! Did a lot of co-op with a friend and we always got in intense debates about who gets the boss drops...

There's really not a huge functional difference between that one and the XBOX version, but you have to have an XBOX Live profile to make that one work. It's hackable after the fact, but thankfully I have a profile from back in the day, mainly for the KOTOR DLC. I'd still love to have the GC version, though.

the pawn shop apparently knew what they had on their hands and priced it at $100 Dang! Maybe I should sell that copy that's been sitting on my shelf since 2007. Nah I need to play it first. It's totally not a mindless loot grinder right?

I couldn't tell you, honestly. I've put very little time into it, but my brother sunk a ton in when the servers were still active. Dial-up all the way! Best description, though, is that it's a console Diablo, with Sega's twist on it. There are still a few active fans of the game, even. Pretty sure they have fan servers set up for that kind of stuff. I think bonesnapdeez messed around a lot with Blue Burst, which was the PC port of the game.

I wish I could think of other comparisons, but Diablo is fairly close. For a modern comparison Borderlands comes to mind.
Each episode only has 4-5 levels and I'm not sure if you can blast through all of it for a quick story run, but I'm laughing trying to remember a single bit of the story anyways. The world and gameplay was fun though. Like I said, I somehow put 90 hours into it OFFline!
From the little I've played of Phantasy Star IV years ago, just don't expect anything like that or anything like traditional JRPG's in general.

I remembered that Xeogred, bone, and dunpeal2064 were fans! I originally bought PSO on GameCube in hopes of playing through its campaign co-op. Later I found out that although you can play it co-op split-screen on the 'Cube, ALL of the story bits are removed in co-op mode. You can't even converse with NPCs! It seemed the co-op mode was meant to be played by players who'd already beaten the campaign single player before, so they already knew what they were doing. That put us off the game. I'm not sure single player sounds very interesting for my tastes, but who knows I could get hooked. XeogredThat tune is fantastic.

Nice haul!
Well, of course that GameStop order was disc-only. I should know this by now. Still, both read fine in ISOBuster, so it could have been worse. Two more PSX RPGs down!
