Yeah, it's really close. What's interesting is that apparently some of the coders helped the guy improve it a bit, so he managed to even get the dropped rings up to the Genesis version. And there's apparently still some room for optimization. Even in its current state, it's nuts to think about. Definitely one of those mind-blowing things that would have either upended (or exacerbated) the console wars.

Well, this is interesting and disappointing at the same time: a Turrican anthology, via Strictly Limited Games. I'm not really a fan of the series, but would be tempted if the price were right...
...which it isn't. They've gone and divided it into two sets, each of which contains a weird subset that seems specifically tailored to get folks to buy both of them.
Vol. 1 - Turrican 1/2 (Amiga), Super Turrican, Super Turrican Director's Cut, Mega Turrican Score Attack Vol. 2 - Turrican 3 (Amiga), Super Turrican 2, Mega Turrican, Mega Turrican Director's Cut, Super Turrican Score Attack.
Each of these is 35 Euros. The Collector's Edition with some extra tchotchkes is 100 Euros. The mega one is 200 Euros. Nope, sorry, y'all. Not happening.

Amiga emulation always gives me a headache so I might be tempted... except yeah, the ones I need to play are spread out across both collections. There is no need for these old games to be spread out across two collections, plus those "Score Attack" ones just look like random fluff.
Weird move. I wonder if we could just get some cheaper digital versions down the road. But this feels like one of those things that might disappear into the ether again...

Yeah, I figure there will be cheaper digital copies. If not, they're leaving money on the table, given that they're only doing 2500 copies of these.

Interesting, I guess Factor 5 came back in 2017 and have retained the rights to Turrican since then. Their last game was 2007's Lair.
So yeah if this isn't just purely a Limited Runs deal, hopefully Factor 5 will just release these digitally at some point. Even putting the games up separately would be fine to me.

Don't get me wrong, I probably would have sprung for a copy if all of them were on one cart/disc. But splitting it like that feels pretty ridiculous.

Looks like a really good package, but not including SMG2 is kinda weird. Although I guess that's a way of admitting SMG2 pales in comparison to SMG1.

This part, THIS PART, is beyond freaking stupid though. Would fit in the Digital Dystopia thread for sure: So digital only? Will a physical release come out after this date? Nintendo isn't especially great at honoring their past. It wouldn't surprise me if this disappears forever after that. Reminds me of those weird bonus SNES games people got for upgrading their 3DS or whatever. Literally can't buy that stuff anymore.
This just reeks of "better buy our system by then or you're outta of luck!"
I already have a Switch and will get this, but this is just ridiculous.
Kind of lame they're just upscaled ports and that along with omitting Galaxy 2, sheesh Nintendo made sure to put as little effort into this as possible.
