It's like people bought it just because it dares to exist.

I've been tracking this one for a while, impressive stuff. It basically makes the 2CHIP systems better than an unmodified 1CHIP, which was considered the holy grail for a while but also has some issues. I did do some research and apparently if you're just running composite or S-Video, the mod is not a huge improvement, but for anyone using RGB, it's a game-changer.

I'm just glad there appears to be a solid workaround for 2CHIP systems. I love the SNES but Nintendo really chintzed on this aspect.

I think it probably didn't matter much back in the day - RGB was so incredibly rare in any context that saving that money made sense, even if it's less than ideal for us new-fangled future folks. I'm not going to modify my system right now since the highest thing I use is S-Video and to me, it looks fine. But if I ever get some HDRetrovision cables, then all bets are off. Weirdly enough, I've only got one 2CHIP system, my original yard sale system. My other big one is a 1CHIP, and I also have a Junior.

Finally ordered some cheap extra 512GB SSDs, going to toss one on the Wii U (via USB adapter) and another in one of the 360s. Still need to look at doing a reset glitch hack of the 360 - it sure would be nice to have a system I could throw all my games on digitally. But at the same time, there's surprisingly more than you'd think that are backwards compatible on the Xbox One, or have PC ports, so... yeah, probably a lower priority for now.

As y'all probably know, I like my cart/save dumpers. I've got a kazzo, a Retrode 2, and now a RetroBlaster Mini, which also does N64.

If it's cheap enough, I should probably consider this. I've got one with a replacement 72-pin connector in it that surprisingly works fine if you don't press the cart down in place, but I've also noticed it's a bit finicky at times. This looks really nice for when I go on a real-cart kick again.
